Can GAOKAO Cultivates Real Talents That the Society Needs?Name: GengyangStudent ID: 20143Class:210AbstractThis paper centers on whether NCEE can develop talents that conform to requirements of the society.From my perspective, the answer should be NO.Key wordsGAOKAO NCEE TALENTS SYSTEM MERIT DEMERIT Body we all have become college students by passing the National College Entrance Examination but I suppose to say the NCEE should not be the right path to distinguish contributing students for the society.NCEE, which is also known as GAOKAO, has been the major way to distinguish capable students by their CEE score to get the advanced education in China since 1977.However, as the society develops rapidly, we need ones more than monotonous talents who can only do the exam well but nothing else.And in this situation, the question Can GAOKAO show who is of real capable to meet the hash requirement of the modern society? is pushed to where winds and waves are highest.The reason why people doubt the NCEE is the phenomenon that students win the GAOKAO but fail to fit in the society and meet its requirement, became wide.Even many top scorers in GAOKAO can not find a good job after graduating from university, which makes us wonder whats wrong with todays students, then we find that it is the NCEE system itself should be blamed.But to judge GAOKAO we should understand it fully first.GAOKAO, which is a double- edged sword and the case with many issues, has both merit and demerit.As its merits, NCEE system can provide a fair opportunity for every student to via where the possibility to go to the university is same for everyone beyond their family background or their network of relationship.And it alleviates the contradiction between the needs to get college education of millions of students and the scarcity of educational resource in some way.It is GAOKAO that let countless students change their fates and countless families get the impartial results.So you can go to the ideal college and get your ideal job by your hard work getting a beautiful mark in NCEE even if you have parents with illiteracy, your family is utterly destitute or you have any congenital defect that makes you difficult to live your life.From my perspective, its pros can never cover up its drawback of system.Nevertheless, if the current NCEE system continues to be the main way for students to get to the universities, China will lose the talent advantage and our country will lag behind in the international competition making the national rejuvenation will become malarkey.When it comes to the cons of GAOKAO, a word-Examination-oriented education should be mentioned.This education system guides schools to set a unified teaching criterion, teaching goals and teaching methods, where students can only develop in one pattern and their own unique character are ignored.On this influence of the Examination -oriented education, children in China are forced to get a good mark in every exam, for which they cant cultivate their interests and hobbies in what they really like.How can a man that never has the opportunity to form the habits of exploring, a man that has no interests in any domain or a man that lacks the initiatives to study in their early years, become real talents.There is no doubt that the interests in a field formed in childhood make significant sense on the enterprise for every successful man of that field.Unfortunately, children in China only have the interests in how to pass the exam but not in the nature, the art, the literature. .Children with no interest in science can never be scientists, and children havent read masterpieces are not likely to be good writers.I think that is why China has fewer top talents in every domain when we have much more population than any country.Therefore, I dont think GAKAO can cultivate real talents, it only cultivates an enormous number of exam machines.In todays society, children should put GAOKAO in a right position where it can be treated rationally and exactly, because GAOKAO is just a form to show who is better on passing the exam but is of nothing about showing ones capability.One may distinguish himself in any trade and not everyone fit in the path to examination.Those who d
