v 1对于职业,存在着模式化和漫画似的认识。如果请国际化大公司的执行官们描述来自不同国家的商务人士和经理人的特点,他们的描述可能会是这样的:v People always have some fixed and illusory understanding about professions.For CEO who are from international companies,their descriptions about feature to business and managers maybe as follow:v 2美国经理人对他们管理的公司和棒球运动有深刻的了解,可是对其他事情所知甚少。他们认为世界上其他国家的人都希望变成美国人。美国人总是最棒的。每个季度的分红是他们的主要目标,只要能最快地实现这个目标任何手段都成。公司组织结构层次多,派活的和干活的,等级森严。雇员对于上司的指令不能置疑(至少不能公开置疑)。要是这样做,就会丢饭碗。美国人说话快,嗓门大。商务洽谈之后,美国人弄来一群律师和财务人员,起草的合同比别国长10倍。 v American managers have a deep understanding about their companies and baseball while they know little about others.In their mind,American are the best so that everyone in this world want to be American.The reward in each season is their main goal.They use any mean to reach this goal as quickly as possible.The structure in their companies are strict.Employees cannot query about the orders from their boss(especially in public).If they do so,they will lose their jobs doubtlessly.American talk very fast and loud.After business conversation,they will bring a couple of lawyers and financial staffs to make contract,which are ten times longer than other countries.v After studying British Lecture and Egypt in Oxford ,British, become the managers with the help of their friends.They have a wide but not exactly knowledge about the running of their companies.Also,they are proud of their conservative.The culture of company in UK is filled with the enmity between different classes and the worry to society.The top manager still has the biggest right to decide everything while they are not admitting it.The idea about managing contradict with the lack of belief in employees.The British managers are very polite,and their humor,sometimes make other foreign managers feel confused.They will never make any decision during the meeting,they just make a clear understanding about things by holding the meeting.If they make a promise to you for sake of not annoying you,they might carry the promise after a very long time.Actually,maybe they will never carry the promise.v 4法国的经理人是拿破仑似的人物,管理风格傲慢自大。许多人是著名大学的高材生,被认为是卓越的计划者,在工商业、金融及政府部门都应是内行。他们粗鲁、目中无人,小心翼翼地守护着自己的社会地位,并热衷于炫耀权力。僵化的等级制度妨碍了与人之间自由轻松的交往,而滋生出“他们”与“我们”的对抗意识。很难与上司接触。信息的流动是单向的,即自上而下的。如果下属不执行上司的命令,公司的经营管理就会出现严重失误。法国的经理们很健谈,但并不总是谈议事日程上的事项。对于建议,他们最初总是持否定态度并非因为不喜欢建议,而是因为他们喜欢争论。然而,他们在会上讲的什么并不重要。会上的讨论只是为了掂量对方的优势和弱点,从而决定下一次会议上应采取什么样的立场。v French managers seem like Napoleon,who are arrogant.Most of them graduated from famous college and be regarded as excellent planners.However,They are rude,guarding their status carefully,also,they love to show their power off.The frozen system about classes prevent the free conversation between people,make them have a optimistic realization between “us” and “them”,so that its difficult for them to get along well with their bosses.The message pass from superior to lower level.If the lower level do not carry the orders from their superior,the companies will have terrible mistakes.The French managers are good talking,but they are not talking the matter on schedule all the time.For suggestions,they always hold the disagreeable attitude at the beginning,it does not mean that they do not like suggestions.It is for the reason that they like to argue.However,it does not a matter about what they talk on the meeting.For them,the argument during the meeting just a way to help them to know more about others advantages and disadvantages,so that they can decide to choose a better situation for the next meeting. v German managers perfer to deal with matters according to the rules.Most of them experienced skillful training for years and have high master degree.They are serious to their job.The leader exactually do their job.If the superior CEO do not make orders,why they still on their spot?During the meeting,they very care about details and procedure,they will never put off the overcoat,even the tie,just because which make them not seem like working.Sometimes,managers may enhance their vioce,hit the table to scare others.Also,they expect to write down all the detail and result during the meeting.v 6意大利经理人灵活机智。他们常常忽略公司的规章(如果有规章的话)。管理是家长式的。老板为员工提供保护。相应地,员工忠诚于老板,认同公司的目标。装腔作势对于意大利经理人来说至关重要。他们善于做出忙碌、成功和富有的派头。亲密的家族关系和有权有势的朋友网对他们的生意很重要。生意在绅士间握手敲定,而非通过律师和会计人员审核而定。备忘录、信函和传真在他们看来都太缺少人情味。意大利经理人更愿意通过电话做生意,通过个人间的交往达成生意则更好。意大利经理人发现其他国家的商人太直截了当,太直奔目标。他们不大把会谈当回事。只为真正的会谈确立日程。会谈前前后后的事比会谈本身更为重要,决策总是秘而不宣的。v The Italy managers are very clever.The often ignore the rules in their companies(if they have),and their managing are paternailstic.Bosses will protect their employees,at the same time,employees are devoted to their bosses and bear the companies goals in mind. They are really the righteous crusaders.They are good at pretending to be busy,successful and rich person.The nice relationship in their families and the friends who are rich and powerful mean a lot to them.Their business will be bargain by shaking hands rather than examine by professional lawyers and accountants.In their minds,memo,letter and fax seem a little bit indiffierence so that they prefer to deal with business through telephone.Also,it is much more better to do a business because of their personal conversation.Italian managers think that the businissmen from other countries are too direct on business.They dont care too much about the talks,just insure the schedule for the real meetings.The matters around the meetings are much more important than meeting.And they always keep the result dark.v 7日本的经理人说“是”的时候就意味着“不”(反过来则并非如此)。他们精明过人,但是只说日语(干嘛要费心思学习那些次要的语言?)。他们刻板,不苟言谈,没有情感,认为自己在种族和文化方面都优于外国人。职位和地位对日本经理人来说是很重要的。但是,这并不意味着一切都由头号人物(总是男人)做出决定。他的主要职责是营造和保持和谐的氛围,激励属下为公司的利益而共同奋斗。会谈时,日本经理人谨慎小心,从不冒险。他们总是有备而来,从不临时草率从事。日程内的事情,无论是什么他们可能比你知道得更详细。别指望本次或下次会谈能达成任何协定。协议的进程费力耗时。v When Japaness managers say “yes”,it possibliy mean “no”().They are smart but speak Japaness only(Why spend time to learn other umimportant languages).They are serious,indifferent and poor in talking,regarding their race and culture better than any other countries.However,it does not mean that everything is determined by the top person.His main responsibilities are holding the harmony atmosphere and encouraging the employees to struggle for the whole company.During the meeting,the Japaness managers are so careful that they never take risks.They always prepare for everything.The matter in the schedule,they will have a better understanding than you.Never expect you can reach any contract in this or next meeting because they alwaysl spend much more time on them.v 8瑞典的经理人讲究实际也有能力,但缺乏想象力。哲学和抽象思维这些东西会令他们大惑不解。他们缺乏幽默感并且把对方的话全都当真。他们常常花较多的时间告诉对方自己产品的不足,而非产品的优点。瑞典经理们回避意见冲突直到各方意见达成一致才做出决定。公司组织结构扁平化,责任下放。而谁负什么责,为什么负责却从来不清楚。瑞典经理人穿运动衫、休闲裤和便鞋参加会谈。他们十分讲究准时,完全按是开会和散会;开门见山不走过场;回答简短,
