Position and content: This class is the fourth period of Unit 9,the first period of Section B of Unit 9.2. What to teach: Teach the reading strategies;Introduce some information about Singapore, like the location, zoo, food and the temperature.Review the present perfect tense with been, ever and never. 3. Teaching key points: Develop students reading skills and make them understand the passage clearly. 4. Teaching difficulties: Using the words, phrases and sentences to write sentences about Ganzhou; . Teaching Aims 1. Knowledge objects The students are requested to master the words, phrases and sentences;Review the present perfect tense with been, never and never.2. Ability objects Make students learn some reading skills,Train students integrating skills.3. Moral objects Knowing the amazing and great of the nature and enable the students to love their hometown.4. Study strategy objects Make the students try to grasp the chance of communication in English andlearn to take an active part in the class activities. . Analysis of Teaching and Learning 1. How to learn 1) Students should use the reaing strategies to get the detailed information .2) Students should do the exercises carefully.3) They should take an active part in the class activities and do well in the cooperation with their partners. The Analysis of Teaching ProcessStep 1 Warming up ( The aim of the pictures and viedo is to arouse students reading interest. )1. Exchange greetings and stories with the Ss. 2. Show pictures of China, America, France. 3. Watch a viedo about Singapore.Step 2 Before reading( The aim is to let students predict and get the main content of the passage.)1. Predict according to the picture and the title .Prediction If you go to Singapore, what information do you want to know about Singapore?2. Fast Reading: Read the beginning sentences in each paragraph to get the main idea of each paragraph. Then match the main idea of each Para. Paragraph 1 The food in Singapore. Paragraph 2 The weather in Singapore. Paragraph 3 The zoo-Night Safari. Paragraph 4 The introduction of Singapore.3. Build a mind map. 4. Finish exerise 2C by listening each Para.Step 3 While-reading(The step of reading is to make the students get more information about Singapore .) 1. Answer two questions in Para1.
