Unit 6 Section A 3 (Grammar focus 4a-4c)成都市大弯中学 张志伟一、教学目标: 1. 语言知识目标:1) 对询问故事的开始、发展、及故事人物、情节等语句进行归纳总结。2) 训练学生在讲故事的过程中合理运用unless, as soon as, sothat等连接句子,使句子连贯、句意通顺、情节紧凑。让学生明确连接词的语用意义,并尝试在新的语境中运用。3) 要求学生明确叙述故事或描写人物的时态。4) 让学生掌握讲故事几个要素,尝试用自己的语言讲述故事。2. 情感态度价值观目标:阅读中国民间神话传说和西方童话故事。鼓励学生相互倾听,培养共同参与的意识。二、教学重难点1. 教学难点:1) 动词的正确形式填空。2) 掌握unless, as soon as, sothat的用法。三、教学过程Step 1 Lead-in Do you enjoy stories?Do you know how to tell stories in English?Please read and find out how to tell a story in English, Ok?Step 2 阅读下列几个故事的开头,思考红色词组表达的含义,如何写故事的开头。How does the story begin? It usually begins with “when where who”.At the beginning of the story, we read information about time, place and main character.Once upon a time, there was a very old man called Yu Gong. And he lived at the foot of two mountains near his house.Long long ago, there lived monkeys and crocodiles(鳄鱼) along a river. Long time ago, in a land far away, there lived a beautiful young girl named Cinderella.Step 3回顾愚公移山的故事,理清叙述故事的几个要素。What happened next? & Why?The underlined sentence is about the questions: “What happened next? Why did Yu Gong try to move the mountains?The read parts answer the question: “How did Yu Gong move the mountains?”.The last paragraph is about “What lesson can we learn from the story?”As you see a good story must have five elements: when, where, who, what, how , whyOnce upon a time, there was a very old man called Yu Gong. And he lived at the foot of two mountains near his house.Yu Gong wanted to move the mountains because they were so big that it took a long time to walk to the other side. The old man told his family that they should all help him to move the mountains. One day, a man saw Yu Gong and his children when they were working on moving the mountains. He told Yu Gong that he could never do it because he was old and weak. As soon as the man finished talking, Yu Gong said that his family could continue to move the mountains after he died. And his family would live and grow, but the mountains could not get bigger. So Yu Gong and his family kept on digging day after day and year after year. Finally, a god was so moved by Yu Gong that he sent two gods to take the mountains away.The story reminds us that you can never know whats possible unless you try to make it happen.Step 4圈出文章中的动词,思考叙述故事所用的什么时态。为什么要用该时态。Whats the tense(时态) in a story ?Ask ss to circle the verbs in the story and find out the tense. Why?The simple present tense Because an introduction of a main character is a fact. What are these words in red? They are conjunction words.Can we delete (删除) them? Why? Of course not. it makes our story clear, logical, and attractive.The Monkey King is the main character from the famous Chinese story Journey to the West.
