An article about three interesting museums. Teaching important and difficult points:1. Vocabulary 2. Using scanning to read an article and find the answers to some questions Teaching Aids:PPT, blackboard, chalkTeaching procedures:Step1: Preview(10 mins) a) students follow teacher to read the new words b)students read these new words in their groups and help each other. c)After that, 6 groups compete to make sentences using these new words in 3 minutes and the group making the most sentences will win.Step2: Before reading (5mins)首先给学生们提供一些首字母,让学生们发挥想象力说出博物馆的名称,此处的答案不唯一,培养学生的发散思维。如: a_ museum b_museum C_museumStep3:While readingScanning: let the students look at the pictures of PPT, and answer these questions:T: What can you see in the picture?S: Various computers.T: What do you think we will read about in this paragraph.S:About a computer museumT: What can we learn in a computer museum?S: the history of computers, the use of computers.Intensive reading:Students talk about these questions of the first paragraph in their groups. Then the group representatives present their answers. 1. What does Ken say about the American Computer Museum? 2. What does Ken wonder about the computers?Read the first paragraph and understand the underlined words Students talk about in their groups then teacher present the correct answer.Read the second and third paragraph 由图片依次引导学生分段快速阅读第二自然段、第三自然段。然后引导学生分段细读第二自然段、第三自然段,并且小组讨论回答3b中的问题以及3c中的问题,之后由老师呈现答案。Step 4: After reading 让学生根据PPT中提示,小组讨论并讲述文章中每一个博物馆的特点.以American Computer Museum为例: They have information about _ The old computers were much_.
