Lead in: T: What were you doing at this time yesterday?S: We were having an English class.T:Good. In this class, we are going to learn Unit5 Section A 1a-1c. Now lets look at learning aims together. Show teaching aims (2 minutes)1. Let the student read the aims.2. Read them together.3. Remember them. Presentation (8 minutes) 1. T: Have you finish the pre-work ? Now lets check the results. S: OK T: Now change the paper with your partner and use your red pen to check the answers. Ask the student to speak out one phrase and spell it S1: at the timeof the rainstorm T: Look at the sentences on the blackboard . Lets check the results together. S: 2. Groupwork: First, work in group and talk about the usage of the Past Progressive Tense. And then sum up something about the Past Progressive Tense. was/were+Ving 肯定句:主语+was/were+doing+其他. 否定句:主语+was/were+not+其他. 一般疑问句:Was/Were+主语+doing+其他? 答语:Yes, 主语+was/were. / No, 主语+was/were+not. 特殊疑问句:What +was/were+主语+doing+其他?3. Yesterday, there was a rainstorm. What were they doing when the rainstorm came? T: What were you doing when the rainstorm came? S1: I was studying in the library. T: Where were you when the rainstorm came? S2: I was on the street. T: What were you doing when the rainstorm came? S3: I was talking with my mother in my house. T: What were you doing when the rainstorm came? S4: I was waiting for the bus at the bus stop.4. Finish 1a together.T: Now lets work on 1a. Where were the people at the time of the rainstorm? Match the statements with the people in the picture. (b,a,d,c). Listening (5 minutes) 1. 1b. Listen to the TV report and circle the correct responses. T: Now well hear something. The recording will be played twice. For the first time, listen and circle the correct responses. Are you ready? OK!T: For the second time, listen and try to repeat. And then read them loudly.2. Check the answers. 3. Speaking:Look at the pictures and answer the questions by using “was/were + doing”. Pair work (8 minutes) Talk about what the people in 1a were doing at the time of the rainstorm. 1. Ask students to work in group to prepare the conversations. 2. Lets them work in pairs to practice the conversations.3. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. 4.评价要求:表达流利,大方自然。 发音准确,无语法错误。 脱离文本,独立完成。. Summary(1 minute): 1. Let the students sum up what they have learned in this class. 2. Do you have any problems in this class?. Exercises (20 minutes) 1. Give the students 15 minutes to do the exercises by themselves. 2. The teacher walk around the students while they are doing the exercises. 3.
