Teacher: Whats the weather like today? Ss: Its rainy and a bit cool. T:Actually it has rained for almost three days, right? Whats your last weekend? Did you do your homework? Have you finished your homework? Ss: Step 2 Group work ( 3 mins)1. Suppose students are having a yard sale, and guide students to think what they would do with the money they raise by working in groups. Then invite 1-2 students to share their ideas. 2. Present several pictures of homeless dogs, poor and hungry children and old people. Guide students to help people in need with the money they raise in the yard sale. Step 3 New words learning(1 min) Show a picture of Tengwang Pavilion, and get students know the meaning of our hometown-Nanchang. Step 4 Grammar Points Analysis-Usage of “for” and “since” (10mins)1. Present the sample sentences in the Grammar Focus and let students to observe the sentence structures, and find out the differences between the simple past tense and present perfect tense. (1) How long have you had that bike over there? Ive had it for three years. (2)How long has his son owned the train and railway set? Hes owned it since his fourth birthday. (3)Have you ever played football? Yes, I did when I was little, but I havent played for a while now.2. Take my teaching experience as an example, and present different sentences with present perfect tense by using “for” and “since”. 我已经在这儿教书五年了。I have taught here for five years. I have taught here since five years ago. I have taught here since 2012. I have taught here since I was 22 years old. 3. Ask students to think the usage of “for” and “since” in the present perfect tense. Then guide students to summarize it. 歌诀:含有for,since的现在完成时的用法歌诀: 过去的动作或状态,一直持续到现在,for、since把时间带。for+时间段 时间段+agosince 过去的时间点 过去时的从句4. Exercises: ask students to fill in the blanks by using “for” and “since”. Then check the answers together. Step 5 Grammar points Analysis-Usage of Continuous Verbs and Non-continuous Verbs (10mins)1. Ask students to do the “True or False” exercises, and have students to feel the differences of Continuous Verbs and Non-continuous Verbs.(1) 这本书我买了5年了。I have bought the book for five years. ()Ive had the book for five years. ( )(2) 你哥哥参军多长时间了?How long has your brother joined the army? ( )How long has your brother been in the army/been a soldier? ( )2. Explain how to transit the non-continuous verbs to continuous verbs. And invite several students to make sentences to consolidate the comprehension. Exercises: ask students to translate and rewrite sentences by using continuous verbs to consolidate the comprehension. Then check the answers together. Step 6 Exercises (15mins)1. 4a Ask students to rewrite the sentences using “for” or “since”. Then invite 5 students to present their answers and check them. (1) Jim is in Japan. He arrived there three days ago.Jim has been in Japan for three days/since three days ago.(2) They are very hungry. Their last meal was ten hours ago. They have been hungry for ten hours/since ten hours ago.(3) I have a camera. I bought it in 2009. I have had a camera since 2009.(4) I know Ann. I first met her three years ago. I have known Ann for three years/since three years ago.(5) Linda is ill. She became ill on Monday. Linda has been ill since Monday.2. 4b Ask students to fill in the blanks with correct forms of the verbs in brackets. Then invite students to read the sentences with their answers together and check the answers. (1) I _ (never be) to the water park before.
