Unit 3 Could you please clean your room?说课稿独山镇龙井初中 许璐Good morning, distinguished judges! Its my great honor to have this opportunity to talk about my teaching ideas. It consists Six parts. Part1 The analysis of the teaching materials:The topic of this unit is about chores. It mainly talks about making polite requests and ask for permissions and how to use modal verb. Such a topic is related to daily life, it is helpful to raise learning interest of students and it will be also helpful to improve their spoken English and develop their feeling to their parents. This lesson is the first period of this unit, the main task is phrase teaching and use “Could I please?”to make polite requests and ask for permissions. Require students learn by themselves and use the knowledge to communicate with others in the daily life.Part2 The analysis of students:My students are used to previewing and reviewing. They have learned some phrases and modal verbs in Grade 7. They are highly motivated English learners who are willing to express their own ideas and interested in foreign cultures. In general, they are active ,imaginative and creative when carrying out English activities in class.Part3 Teaching Objectives:Knowledge goals:1. Master the key words and phrases.2. Learn to make a polite request and ask for permissions.3. Be able to make the dialogues about making a polite request and asking for permissions.Ability goals:1. Learn the new words and phrases using word cards and pictures.2. Let students work in pairs to learn the cooperative learning.Moral goals:1. Lead the students to know that its always right to be polite.2. Chores are part of fun in our daily life.Important points1. Master the new words and expressions.2. How to make a polite request and ask for permission.Difficult pointBe able to make a polite request and ask for permissions.Part4 Teaching and learning methodsAs for teaching methods, I mainly draw on the Task-based Language Teaching and Communicative Language Teaching. I focus on assisting students learning. To achieve the aim, the whole lesson is carried out step-by-step tasks.Cooperative learning method is adopted through out the lesson, students work together to do an interview, discuss questions. Students can learning by using the target language and applying learning strategies.Part5 Teaching proceduresThere are 6 steps in my teaching procedures. Allow me to interpret my lessons in detail.Step1 Lead inGive them a short video, its a fairy tale called Cinderella, before watching, give them a question: What does the flash have to do with our lesson?After watching, they will give me the answer to the question: The Cinderella has to do chores everyday.Purpose: The introduction of video can attract students attention and cause students learning interests.Step2 Presentation1. Ask them a question: Do you do these chores at home? Give them some pictures on the screen. Show the phrases on the electronic whiteboard: do the dishes, sweep the floor, take out the rubbish, fold your clothes, make the bed.2. Let them read after the recording from the electronic textbook.3. Ask them a question again: What chores do you usually do at home? Find several students to answer my question then ask them to practice in pairs.Purpose: Use pictures to learn the new words can attract students interests. By providing more phrases and expressions, students can consolidate the vocabulary of new learning.Step3 A Guessing GameShow some pictures on the computer, use the cartoon function in PPT to cover the middle of the picture and ask them: Can you guess what she is doing? Show the picture one by one. When students give their answers, check together.Purpose: This is a game of students observation and memory. It can cause students heart of victory. Its interesting so that learning the words is not boring. It can also let them learn happily so that the classroom climate is very easy.Step4 Make A SurveyDivide students into several groups and let them do a survey. Each student in the group has to interview others, and then select the most industrious person in the group.Purpose: This activity can make the classroom climate active, the learning environment is very relaxing. It can also develop students speaking skills and cooperation ability.Step5 Grammar Focus 1. Praise the most industrious students, then tell them the real experience: When I was a child, I didnt want to do chores at home, so my mom ordered me to do some chores. Write three sentences on the electronic whiteboard and read out in different moods: Clean your room, Annie!Can you clean you room, Annie?Could you please clean your room, Annie?2.Let them find the differences among these three sentences, then let them know the polite request.3.Ask them to use the learned to make some conversations about making a polite request and asking for permissions. Then the teacher write the sentences on the electronic whiteboard:Could you please? Yes, I can./sorry, I cant.Purpose: Through this task, students summarize the grammar by themselves. In class, the teacher is just a guide, while students are the center. The teacher just join them, giving suggestions, and offering help when they need.Step 6 A Task ActivitySuppose your aunt will come to see you, your room is in a mess. But the teacher ask you to do some things, you have no time to do cleaning. So you must ask your classmates if they
