Teaching Plan From Grammar Focus to 4c of Unit SevenUnit 7 Whats the highest mountain in the world?Teaching content: Section A Grammar Focus-4c Type of class: a new and grammar class Teaching aims : Knowledge aims: 1. Learn the new words:thousand, deep, salt lake, ocean, Qomolangma, the Caspian Sea, the Pacific Ocean2. Learn to make comparisons with the superlative form and the comparative form.3. Know some information about the world geography.4. Be aware of how to read big numbers.Ability aims: 1. Be able to describe things with the comparative form.2. Be able to describe things with the superlative form.Emotional aim: Learn to love our environment and protect it. Teaching key points: Learn to describe things with the superlative form and the comparative form.Teaching difficult points: The superlative form and the comparative form.Teaching methods: task-based method Teaching aids: Multimedia.Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warming UpBefore the class, students listen to a song and enjoy some famous places and beautiful pictures. This can help them to relax themselves and be energetic.After self-introduction, students read the topic after me and divide the students into four groups. Group dividing helps students to work together and have competitions.Step 2 Presentation(oral practice)After knowing the two countries of China and Japan, I teach the students to compare their sizes. Ask students to pay attention to the colorful words. This part takes about 5 minutes.After knowing the sentence patterns of making comparison, Ill hep them to compare the Yangtze and the Yellow, the Yangtze and the Amazon. This part can help students to practice the key sentences of the comparative form.Then choose two students to compare their height, another two about their weight or characters.After that, students learn about the superlative form to describe the three places: Qomolangma, the Caspian Sea and the Pacific Ocean and know the geographical information about these top places. Ask students to pay attention to the key words I color.Step 3 SummaryTo make sure that students are more familiar to the key expressions and key sentences, we have a summary about them. Then do some practice to strengthen what they learn in this class.Students often go traveling on holidays and they may throw rubbish or draw on the wall to do harm to our environment. So I ask them to keep the environment clean and comfortable.Step 4 HomeworkConsidering students different abilities, I give them homework of different levels.1. Choose 2 cities and compare them.2. Write 3 questions using comparisons.3. Make a dialogue with your partner with the comparative forms.
