Teaching process Step 1 Review The teacher greets students:T: Hello! My dear class. What did you do yesterday? Could you please help your parents take out the rubbish/do the dishes/fold the clothes?Ss: No, we cant.T: No? Why dont you help your parents? You know they are your parents.Ss: Yes, we know. But we are angry with them.T: Oh, thats not a big deal. Why dont you talk to them? You should communicate more. Ss: OK, thats a good idea, we will.Step 2 Lead in1. The teacher points at a girl in the classroom and asks:T: What are you doing now?S: We are having an English class.T: What were you doing at this time yesterday? S: We were having an art class.2. The teacher points at the blackboard and asks the class:T: Whats the girl doing now? Ss: She is running.T: What was she doing at seven oclock yesterday morning?Ss: She was running.3. The teacher points at the blackboard and the students askthemselves:Ss: Whats the boy doing now?Ss: He is playing football. Ss: What was he doing at three oclock yesterday afternoon?Ss: He was playing football.4. The teacher points at the blackboard and the students ask themselves:Ss: What are they doing now? Ss: They are dancing. Ss: What were they doing at ten last night?Ss: They were dancing. The teacher writes “ What are you doing? ”on the blackboard and asks in Chinese:这是什么时态? 引导学生回答,复习现在进行时态的意义及结构(am/is/are + doing)。再问这位学生:“What were you doing when I came in?”引入过去进行时态(was/were + doing),板书课题,引出本节课的教学任务。进而引出本课的重点内容过去进行时Step 3 Learn the new tense承接导入部分进一步讲解过去进行时:Language points 过去进行时态: 表示在过去某一时刻或某一段时间内正在进行或持续进行的动作。其结构为:主语be的过去式was/were动词的现在分词其他。其中be随主语的人称和数的变化而变化。当主语是第一人称或第三人称单数时用was,主语是第二人称或第一、三人称复数时用were。I was watching TV at that time.那个时候我正在看电视。这是过去进行时态的简单句形式, 过去进行时态的否定形式为:was/were not + doing (wasnt / werent) 过去进行时态的疑问形式为: Was/Were + doing? Yes, was. / No, were.注意:过去进行时态常见的时间状语为at that time / at this time / last night / at 8:00 yesterday evening / when + 过去时 请同学们看白板进行练习 Step 4 Practise the new tense 利用课件中的“Guessing games to relax”的活动部分进一步练习巩固过去完成时,让学生在轻松愉悦的情境中掌握过去完成时。 T:Last night,I went to the Boys Dorm(宿舍). Please guess!What were the boys doing when I arrived?What was Jerry doing when I arrived?Ss: He was sweeping the floor. (guess) T: What was James doing when I arrived?Ss: He was folding the clothes.T: What was Tim doing when I arrived?Ss: He was brushing his teeth.T: Where was Andy when I arrived ?What was he doing?Ss: Maybe he was taking a shower in the bathroom.接下来请同学们利用所学习的新时态来解决教材上的问题:Step 5 Work on 1a1c1.自主大声朗读1a中的句子,然后两人一组互相朗读翻译。2.认真观察1a中的图片,将图片和句子匹配,完成后参考白板核对答案。3.学生齐读1b中的短语,为听力做好准备。4.听录音,在1b中圈出你所听到的回答,参考白板核对答案。5.再听一遍录音,并跟读对话。6.结对练习1c中的对话,并请一些学生利用白板上给出的结构表演对话。7.模仿1c中的对话,用1b听力材料中的信息与同伴编练新对话,并邀请几组学生表演对话。A:What was the girl doing at the time of the rainstorm?B:She was .Step 6 How to use when and while在学习2a-2c之前先讲解when和while的区别有利于教材知识的掌握,更有利于听力材料的理解。讲解when和while的用法when和while都可表示“当的时候”,引导时间状语从句。两者的区别如下: 1用when引导的状语从句表示时间,说明一个动作发生时,另一个动作正在进行,也可表示正在进行某一动作时,另一动作发生了。2while引导的时间状语从句:表示某个动作正在进行的同时,另一动作也在进行之中,这时主从句都用进行时态,有对同类的两个动作进行对比的意味;也可表示某个动作正在进行时,另一个动作发生了。3. 简单的说when后面跟的动作不延续, 常跟一般过去时,而while后面跟的动作延续, 常跟过去进行时。4. While和when之间可以相互转换,只不过是要选用相应的动词及形式,如:1)When the alien got out, the girl was shopping. = While the girl was shopping, the alien got out. 2)When the UFO landed, the boy was walking down the street. = While the boy was walking down the street, the UFO landed请同学们做下列练习:(师生互动完成此项任务)1). T: While John was playing the piano, Mary left the house. Ss: John was playing the piano when Mary left the house.2). T: While John was cleaning the room, Mary turned on the radio. Ss: John was cleaning the room when Mary turned on the radio.3). T: While John was shopping, Mary took the car to the car wash. Ss: John was shopping when Mary took the car to the car wash. 在熟练掌握when和while的用法后再深入教材,学习就容易多了。Step 7 Work on 2a2d1.认真观察2a中的图片,然后听录音,根据听到的顺序为图片标序号,通过白板集体核对答案。2.再认真听一遍录音,根据对话内容完成2b的填空,完成后通过白板集体核对答案。3.听第三遍录音,学生跟读。4.仿照2c的形式,利用2a中的对话信息复述记者和男孩之间的对话,完成后邀请几组学生表演对话。TV reporter: Tell us what happened yesterday morning?Boy:.TV reporter: So, when the rainstorm suddenly came, what were you doing?Boy:.5. 带着问题研究2d部分,找四名同学解释问题: What was Linda doing at seven last night?Was Linda having a shower at nine last night?Why did Mary call Linda?Who helped Mary at last?看白板大声朗读2d中的对话, 读熟后与同伴解决以上问题,Ask 4 students to give their answers:S1: She helped her mother.S2: No, she wasnt.
