Nowadays, our government encourages college graduates to employ themselves by starting their own career. If their plan is creative and original, the government will grand a financial aid to them. This act aims to stimulate graduates creativity and alleviate the pressure of employment. Firstly, the rate of unemployment and underemployment of college graduates is on the rise in recent years because of the competitive job market. Secondly, some graduate employees are not satisfied with the present job and their enthusiasm for work has been frustrated to some degree. Thirdly, some brilliant and ambitious graduates lack start-up capital even though they have a good idea. In conclusion, the act does not only bring many opportunities to college graduates, but also restore their confidence in themselves and the future. Moreover, many job opportunities are created for the society as a result. College Students Job Hunting1. 如何解决这一问题(改变就业观念,大学生再培训等)In recent years, college students find it increasingly difficult to get a job. It sounds strange since young college students are usually intelligent, well-educated, ambitious and eager to bring their talent into full play. Then what underlies the strange phenomenon? There are several reasons for this. To begin with, nowadays college students aim too high. All they want are “good” jobs which could offer good salary, comfortable working conditions, and high social status among others. Consequently, most college students are unwilling to accept vacant jobs they consider not “good” enough. Another reason is that there is a big gap between the majors some students study in school and the demands of vacant jobs. So companies think some students are not fit for the jobs.Solution to the problem requires efforts on both the society and the students. The companies should value the students, talent and knowledge while the latter should not merely aim at material gains. They should be down-toearth in building up their career. Furthermore, they should face their weak points so as to improve themselves and be more competent.Jobs for Graduates1. Job hunting has always been a headache for college students. Though many graduates are employed right after graduation, some are not. Most serious of all, some still have no idea where to go working even a long time after graduation. The reasons for this phenomenon are various. On the one hand, a few years ago colleges and universities enrolled so many students in popular majors, such as economy, finance and so on that the number of graduates was greater than the need in the market. On the other hand, most graduates would rather stay in large cities without suitable job to do than go to the country.I reckon this problem can be solved if both colleges and students take measures. First, they should research the market and develop special skills to suit its need. Second, students attitude towards employment should be changed. They should go to small cities and country. There they can also give full play to their professional knowledge. In a word, if we pay much attention, the situation can be improved. To Be a Small Fish in a Big Pond or a Big Fish in a Small Pond?1在大企业工作的特点2在小企业工作的特点3我的选择 Just as there are distinct differences between being a small fish in a big pond and a big fish in a small pond, so it is with working as a subordinate in a large enterprise and presiding in a small firm. With the former, you can derive a deep sense of satisfaction from being a member of a well-known organization such as General Motors, or the Bell Telephone System. You have the opportunities of learning from experienced executives and knowing about the standard working process. With the latter, you have greater responsibilities and your decision may bring immediate effect. Normally you are exposed to various experiences and expected to do a great many things without much help or guidance. Personally I prefer to work in a small enterprise, where my prospect of promotion is good as long as I work hard. To tell the truth, Id rather become a well-known and important figure within my own small pond.Choosing an Occupation1. One of the most important problems a young person faces is deciding what to do. There are some people, of course, who from the time they are six years old “know” that they want to be doctors or pilots or fire fighters, but the majority of us do not get around to making a decision about an occupation or career until somebody or something forces us to face the problem.Choosing an occupation takes time, and there are a lot of things you have to think about as you try to decide what you would like to do. You may find that you will have to take special courses to qualify for a particular kind of work, or you may find out that you will need to get actual work experience to gain enough knowledge to qualify for a particular job.Fortunately, there are a lot of people you can turn to for advice and help in making your decision. At most schools, there are teachers who are professionally qualified to give you detailed information about job qualifications. And you can talk over your ideas with family members and friends who are always ready to listen and to offer suggestions.Campus Certificates Craze1. If you just randomly ask a student on campus what he is busy doing, very possibly, he may answer that he is preparing for a certificate of some kind. Investigating a few more, you will find that this has become a new craze among college students. The reasons behind the phenomenon can be summarized into jus one: the pressure of finding a job after graduation. With the admission expansion of colleges, a lot more graduates have to compete for the limited job posts. How to make oneself more competitive? Maybe more certificates at hand. Hoping that the employers might find one of them more attractive, the students are compelled to run from one exam to another. As far as I am concerned, the students should have a more rational attitude toward certificates, because exam certificates do not necessarily represent ones ability. For me, one should work hard at his ore her major. Opportunity will come to you if you are competent enough in your field. The Post-graduate Craze1. 目前很多人报考研究生2. 我认为形成这股热潮的原因是Each year, millions of college students will sit in for the post-graduate entrance examination. More and more students have regarded the pursuing of a master degree as an indispensable part of their education. What is to account for their enthusiasm for a post-graduate diploma? First, it is the demand of the time. In an age of knowledge updating and information explosion, what you have learned in college can hardly meet the demand of society. Talents of high quality who are equipped with the latest knowledge and skill will be needed more than ever. That is why many students will further their studies.Second, we all recognize that the more education you have, the more likely you are to succeed. Compared with those without a master degree, masters will enjoy more preferential treatment, for example, better salaries, more opportunities for promotion and training. A post-graduate degree can guarantee a more promising career.Last but not least, with the graduation of a large number of college students, competition for jobs becomes more and more fierce. One way to gain some advantage over others is to have a higher degree. No wonder millions of students will consider pursuing a post-graduate degree.More Candidates(候选人) for Civil Servant1. 现在有越来越多的大学应届毕业生报考公务员,带来了一定的不利因素2. 列举两到三个不利因素加以论述3. 你对此有何看法Nowadays many college graduates apply for civil servant positions. It is true that the positions are ideal in terms of (在.方面)incomes, employment security and respect of others. However, the ever increasing number of applicants doesnt necessarily mean a good thing. The fever for civil servant has brought some side effects(副作用). The side effects are listed as follows:Firstly, many students apply for the positions for wrong reasons. Some of them apply just because their friends do it or because their parents want them. Some, instead of aiming at serve the people, have the intention of enjoying the interests and power brought by their future position. Secondly, too many candidates compete for limited positions. Take such hot positions as those in the judicial branch of government for example, it is estimated that one position is selected out of 200 candidates. More worse(更糟的是), with the flow of most talents to such positions, those positions that are important for social welfare but inferior in personal welfare are left uninterested. This should arouse our deep concern(这应当引起我们深思).For my part, college students should be cautious when deciding whether to apply for the positions. On the one hand, they should not follow others blindly. On the other hand, there are plenty of ways of employment and self-employment(自主创业), so why crowd on one bus? In a word, the fever should be cooled down.Studying Abroad1. 目前很多中国学生出国留学2. 出国留学的好处3. 我的看法Nowadays, going abroad for studies is enjoying a striking popularity among adolescents. Importance should be attached to studying abroad. There are a great many advantages of studying overseas. First and foremost, living and studying abroad offers students a different perspective of the world. On a university campus, international students are likely to encounter their counterparts from various countries and areas and are exposed to diverse ideas and values. Whats more, overseas experience is the best opportunity for the real-life use of foreign languages. There is no better opportunity to improve second-language skills than living in the country in which it is spoken.Generally speaking, it is my view that although going abroad is expensive and perhaps painful, the payoff is worthwhile. In the first place, in addition to knowledge, overseas students can gain precious experiences that those who stay at home will never have. Furthermore, overseas experience, frustrating and painful as it may be, is conducive to the growth of adolescents.Attend Your Classes Regularly1.现在大学校园里,迟到、早退、旷课是常见的现象2.保证学生的出勤率对大学教育的重要性3.作为一个大学生应该怎样做Nowadays it is a very common phenomenon that some university students are late for or even absent from classes. And still there are some students who slip out of the classroom before the class is over. Class attendance has become a thorny problem to both the students and teachers. In fact, it is very important for the students to attend their classes regularly. First, it will ensure you to catch up with the teachers in your learning. That is very helpful to you if you want to do a good job in your study. Second, attending classes regularly is a way of showing respect to your teachers, too. Your teachers will feel bad if the students do not attend their classes, which, in turn, will affect their teaching and be no good for the students. Third, attending classes regularly will help to form a good habit of punctuality, which is of great importance for the students to do a good job in the future. Therefore, we university students should form the good habit of attending our classes regularly from now on. And some day well benefit from itStudents Rating of Their Teachers1.学生给老师打分已经普遍2.人们对其持不同态度3.我的看法Nowadays, it has become as common in colleges and universities for students to grade teachers as for teachers to grade students. In some universities students rating has even become the only source of information on teaching effectiveness. This, however, has caused great controversy. Some are in favor of the rating system. They hold that since students attend the teachers classes every day, they should have their opinion about their teachers effectiveness. Others, on the contrary, are strongly against it. They believe that there is much more to teaching than what is shown on students rating forms. Students should not be expected to judge whether the materials they use are up to date or how well the teacher knows about the subject. These judgments require professional knowledge, which is best left for the teachers colleagues.I think students rating of their teachers is necessary, but it should be conducted in a way that can really shed meaningful light on teachers performance. Instead of rating the teachers knowledge on the subject, students should be asked to estimate what they have learned in a course, and to report on such things as a teachers ability to communicate with students, his or her relationship with students, and his or her ability to arouse students interest in the subject.Lectures and Discussions1一些学生赞成讲座式教学2另一些学生偏爱讨论式教学3你的看法There is a heated debate over the role of lectures and discussions in the classroom. Some people believe that lectures can help students learn more quickly. In contrast, others hold that discussions can stimulate students to learn by themselves. Those who hold the first opinion suggest that students attend more lectures. In their view, by giving lectures teachers help students master the knowledge theyve accumulated over years of study and research. However, others think that in a discussion, the teacher usually guides the students instead of dominating them. They argue that to get involved in a discussion, students have to develop their ability to analyze problems independently. In my opinion, I stand on the side of neither idea. First of all, either method has its disadvantages. Furthermore, each student has his or her preference. Thirdly, lectures are preferable to discussions in the teaching of science subjects, and on the contrary, discussions are preferable to lectures in studying the humanities. Therefore, we should adopt different teaching methods according to different subjects. On a Harmonious Dormitory Life 1. 宿舍生活有时会出现不和谐的情况;2. 一个和谐宿舍生活的必要性;3. 如何创造和谐的宿舍生活。Dormitory life is an indispensable part of college life. But sometimes the harmony in the dormitory is disturbed in one way or another. As is known to all, a harmonious dormitory life is important to college students and benefits all the members. On the one hand, we can have a good rest and put our heart into study. On the other hand, we will have a good mood and enjoy being together. There are several ways to create and maintain a harmonious dormitory life. Firstly, you have to evaluate your life-style and try to get rid of your dirty habits, if there are any. Secondly, when an annoying situation arises, youll just have to learn to tolerate each other and co-exist. Thirdly, youll have to share with each other and make good friends. In conclusion, we should try our best to build a harmonious dormitory life for the sake of good study and good life.Living alone or Living with Roommates1有人认为大学里应独自生活2另一些认为大学里应与别人同住3你的看法Nowadays, there has appeared a heated discussion among the college students as to whether they should live alone outside the campus or live together with other roommates in the students dormitory. Opinions are divided over the matter. Those who are in favor of living alone maintain that it is very convenient to live by themselves. They can enjoy absolute freedom in a room of their own. They can have their own timetable without disturbing others. They are also free to equip the room with a personal computer so that they can have easy access to the Internet. But others argue that living with roommates has attractions of its own. With several students sharing the same room, each persons experiences can be greatly enriched. They can learn a lot from talking to one another. By learning to tolerate the differences between individuals, they can become more mature. As far as Im concerned, I prefer to live with roommates because I love the feeling of belonging. Besides, it is a lot cheaper to live in a dorm than to rent an apartment outside the campus.Learning to Be Grateful1. 现在学校、乃至整个社会越来越重视感恩教育2. 心怀感恩的重要性3. 我该如何做 Nowadays, the education of the youth to be grateful is taken more and more seriously not only at schools, but also in the whole society. Then what is the importance of learning to be grateful? Firstly, learning to be grateful makes one see the bright side of life that turns him into a positive person, and can also perfect his personalities, which plays a vital role in his future development. Secondly, learning to be grateful can make one become a responsible citizen in the society. If ones heart is full of gratefulness, he can offer as much as he can to others, and make a great contribution to the society. Still more importantly, since no individual live completely independent of others, being grateful, a person will not do things at the price of sacrificing the interest of others. Briefly, if everyone is grateful, our society will be more harmonious, our family will have more happiness, and we, as individuals, will have a more bright future for self-development. So let us learn to appreciate what we get, and we will realize what a blessed life we have.美德问题: 1.美德有很多种,如勤奋,认真,耐心,公正,互助等 2.你认为哪一种最重要 3.树立正确的社会主义荣辱观 We must uphold these core virtues including diligence, honesty, justice and responsibility. Traditionally, we Chinese admire the virtue of plain living and hard struggle. The vital importance is also placed on honesty and justice. In my eyes, however, responsibility tops our priority. To shoulder some heavy responsibilities, we must keep a style of plain living and har
