Unit 9 What does he look like? (3a-3b) Pre-writing Good afternoon, everyone! Im very glad to be here to present my lesson. Im No. Today Ill say the Pre-writing of Unit 9. Its from Grade 7 in Go For It! The title is “What does he look like?” OK, welcome to my class. Teaching ProceduresStep 1 Warming-up First of all, Ill tell Ss what they should have to do in this lesson. In order to attract the Ss attention, Ill begin my class with a speed contest. First of all, have all Ss stand, ask them to read and spell the words in pairs. Remind them they must be fast and correct. And they can sit down when they finish. The first pair of Ss to sit down is the winner. I design this step because I think interest is a powerful driving force to encourage Ss to learn. Its important to interest Ss at the beginning of the class, and its also necessary to provide a background information to lead in new topic .Step 2 Asking and answeringIn this step, Ill show Ss a picture about my best friend and ask Ss some questions about her. For example, 1 What does she look like? (Height, build, hair) 2 What does she wear? 3 What does she like doing? 4 Whats she good at?(with the help of some pictures)Next, I will show Ss an example passage with some missing words,Ask Ss to fill in the blanks. Then read it together. I design this step for the following purpose: Before writing, the teacher should help Ss to get rid of some difficulties. They need to prepare in two aspects. One is the preparation of language points, the other is the preparation of topic. Step 3 Learning structure In this step, task-based teaching method is used here to improve Ss reading and speaking. Now, its my specific design. Task 1, Ill ask Ss to complete 3a by themselves . After checking the answers, ask three Ss to read it in three parts . Task 2, Ill break it up and ask Ss to work in groups of three to put them in the right order and then ask the fastest group to read the their answers. Task 3, ask Ss read it together and find out the structure of the passage. Remind Ss to pay attention to the topic sentence In this step, Ss can fully understand the target language of the unit little by little. This step aims to improve studentslogical thinking ability. It can also train students ability of expression. Step 4 Pre-writingFirst, have Ss talk about their friends in pairs with the help of the following questions . Next, ask Ss to write their passages with the help of the chart and strategies, while Ill ask a volunteer to write on the Bb. This step aims to develop Sscreative thinking. Ss can also use English as much as possible in class. Its necessary for Ss to make new things to enrich the knowledge they learnt.Step5 Re-thinkingIn the first part of the class, Im only the director, students are the main part. I try my best to let the students experience the pleasure of writing. Group work helps students learn to work with each other to solve the problems more easily.
