Louise finds them and threatens to shoot harlan if he doesnt stop. but harlan begins to swear and insult them; thelma shoots and kills him with anger. thelma wants to go to the police right away, but thelma worries that because thelma was drunk and had been dancing with harlan, no one would believe he was trying to rape her. instead of going to the police, Louise decides to run away, and thelma follows. since then the music becomes bright and vehement.unfortunately, things dont go with the plan. though they got the cash from Louises boyfriend, thelma quickly lost it all by trusting with j.d., which makes Louise feel hopeless and cry .frankly, after the money incident, Louise should have left her on the side of the road and drove off by her. but, this is a movie about friendship, their fates link together after experienced so many troubles.at least thelma finally made herself useful by robbing a convenience store so they could have some money to escape. this, of course, only exacerbates their problems with the law. of course, they are crazy, but at least they are happy. they ignore what is right or wrong , just move forward.personally, the film is a rare good movie. i appreciate their smile and the struggle spirit. during this film ,harlan loses his life ,j.d. loses his freedom ,jimmy loses a cute girl to live with ,and darryl loses a good wife who he is supposed to love .but thelma and Louise has a lot ,they have the chance to express themselves ,much more awake than ever before and they do not remember feeling that important to each other .the film can be counted as a feminist film.thelma and Louise contain both positive and negative messages with regard to gender. thelma is the traditional type who represents the old-fashioned female who is reliant on others. she doesnt think of consequences when she makes decisions. her friend Louise, on the other hand, is the single, independent, and self-supportive type. what keep the film from being completely over-the-top are the characters of thelma and Louise.the two women want to run away from their traditional roles as women .they all put under too much pressure from society and especially men .both thelma and Louise feel a need to change their position in society and they do it by changing the way they communicate. men and women always communicate differently. traditional women are more careful about what they say and seek to build relationships by the way they communicate. they change from the traditional female forms of communication to a more masculine form of communication.the film gives us much advice about love, marriage and life .even during the last moments of the film; the characters leave the world with a smile on their faces. they move on, travel along the road, enjoy the beautiful scenery and have a restart. in the difficult journey they rely on and accompany each other to the last.i prefer to attribute their feelings of both pure and sincere friendship. what impressed me most is the last word thelma said to Louise, “lets keep going.” theres never any doubt that no matter what happens, they will always be there for the other. they give each other the were in china? the below are my opinions about it.altogether, i have put thelma and Louise in different periods of china.first, they were in ancient china. as we all know, in ancient china, women were just appendixes to men. womens social status was much lower than mens. men were the controller of the world. women had to obey men unconditionally. in addition, chastity was as important as their lives to women at that time. we can see it from an ancient book called biography of women with virtues. so, in ancient china, in my own opinion there would be two probabilities of thelma and Louises destiny. the first one is that Louise would etither commit suicide or became a nun or a prostitute after she was raped. so would thelma. because Louise in ancient china couldnt have a gun to shoot the bad guy who wants to rape thelma. what she could do is just to try her best to fight with the bad guy barehandedly or to turn to others for help. the second probability is that when Louise see thelma is going to be raped, she might try to kill the badguy with a knife or something like that if she is brave enough. and if the bad guy is really killed, they two are very likely to give themselves up to yamen, a kind of government office in feudal china. after all, there is no feminism at that time. that is what would happen if thelma and Louise were in ancient china. however, in the movie, Louise still could have a normal life after she was raped in texas, although it was really a great pain in her life and thelma wasnt raped because Louise killed the bad guy with a gun. thats the difference in america and ancient china.next, lets put thelma and Louise in modern china. since 1920s, feminism has implanted into china. as the development of our society, the status of women are getting higher and higher, especially after the peoples republic of china was established. women are more aware of protecting their legal rights and personal safety. luckily, china is a country with traditional virtues and is not so open like america. in america, men often do obscene gestures to women in public. but in modern china, if a man does gross gestures to a woman in public, he will not only be arrested charged with sexual harassment but also be condemned and attacked by the public. besides, nowadays, women in china are more aware of protecting themselves with the weapon of law. most importantly, it is illegal for individuals to have guns in china. so it is really impossible for thelma and Louise in modern china to have a gun at hand when they are just going to have a vacation. so when thelmais going to be raped by a bad guy, Louise may ask for help from police or other people rather than kill the bad guy with a gun. certainly, in the movie, if harlan didnt show his further defiance and insult to thelma and Louise after Louise had stopped him with the gun, he would not have been killed by Louise when she was reminded of her cruel and abject exprience in texas again. and there would not have the following accidents and troubles with the two poor girls and they would not have been forced to commit suicide. from the movie, i can see that america at that age really had a bad social morality. harlans further nasty words and Louises miserable experience resulted the tragedy together. however, china is more conservative than america and chinese people are more subtle than americans. so, according to the above analysis, i can draw a conclusion that the bad guy who wants to rape thelma in china will stop his bad deeds when a witness, Louise appears. even if he doesnt stop and thelma and Louise kill the guy with some other weapon, they two will not choose to run away. instead, they will tell the police what happened and what they did was just to protect themselves. after all, in china, feminism is not so intense as in america. chinese laws take women as vulnerable groups and they pay more attention to protect women.the above is what i thought about
