内蒙古翁牛特旗乌丹第一中学高中英语 unit 3 grammar教案 新人教版必修5教学目标:1.learn about the past participle used as the adverbial2.know the difference between the past participle and the present participle.教学重、难点:1.master the past participle used as the adverbial2.enable the ss to use the past participle used as the adverbial freely and properly in writing.教学方法:task-based teaching and learning教学内容: step 1 revisionstep 2 lead in.step 3 presentation the museum was built in 1910. the museum is almost 100 years old.combine the two sentences using the past participle as the adverbial. built in 1910, the museum is almost 100 years old.in this sentence the past participle is used as _.it is a way to join two clauses together. 过去分词(短语)作状语,像现在分词作状语一样,修饰谓语动词,大多是用来进一步说明动作发生的背景或情况,在意义上相当于状语从句,表示时间、原因、条件、让步、方式或伴随情况等。一过去分词(短语)作状语的几种情况1.作时间状语,相当于一个 _状语从句.when asked by the teacher, the little boy kept silent. = when he was asked by the teacher, the little boy kept silent. 3.作条件状语, 相当于一个 _状语从句. given more time, we could do it much better.=_, we could do it much better.4.作让步状语 , 相当于一个 _状语从句. warned of the storm, the farmers were still working in the fields.= _, the farmers were still working in the fields.归纳:把分词短语转变为状语从句时,该状语从句应该具备两个特征:1)从句的主语和主句的主语_。2)从句的谓语动词为_形式。5.作方式或伴随情况状语, 相当于一个_。 the young man was busy preparing his paper, locked in his fathers study all day long. the old man stood up, _ (support) by his son.= the old man stood up,and he _ (support) by his son.注意:要分析句子结构,弄清楚该填 _还是_. 二过去分词作状语的注意事项(1) 过去分词作状语,其逻辑主语通常要与句子的 _ 一致;(2) 过去分词充当状语时,其前可加when ,while ,if ,once, unless ,though/although等连词。if (it is )translated word by word, the passage will be difficult to understand. even if invited , i wont go.=even if _invited, i wont go. 此时连词+过去分词相当于一个含有被动语态的 _ 。这种带有连词的过去分词通常可看作是一种省略句,省略的部分是_,省略的主语要与_相同。(3) 有些过去分词及短语来源于系表结构,作状语时并不强调被动而重在描述主语的状态。这样的过去分词及短语常见的有:lost(迷路);seated(坐);hidden(躲);lost/absorbed in(沉溺于);dressed in ;tired of; devoted to;dressed in a black coat, he looks very handsome.lost in thought, he didnt notice his mother come in. devoted to his work,the doctor cares little about any other things.(4)当分词的逻辑主语与句子的主语不一致时,即分词有自己独立的逻辑主语时,要用独立主格结构(名词、代词+doing done)或 with 复合结构来替代。her money stolen, she couldnt buy a plane ticket for her home.the chief was brought in,wih his hands _(tie ) back. 三过去分词作状语与现在分词作状语的区别:1. the teacher came into the classroom, _(follow) by two students.2. the teacher came into the classroom, _(follow) two students. _(see) from the top, the stadium looks like a bird nest. 3. _(see) from the space, the astronaut can not discover the great wall. 归纳:现在分词作状语时,通常与其逻辑主语之间存在逻辑上的 _关系。过去分词作状语时,通常与其逻辑主语之间存在逻辑上的 _关系。选择现在分词还是过去分词,关键看句子的主语。如分词的动作是主句的主语发出,就选用_分词,反之就用_分词。5. his parents died, _(leave)him a lot of money.归纳:现在分词还可以作_状语,表示 _的结果。而过去分词不可以作结果状语。step 4 practising一change the following sentences,using the past participle as the adverbial.1. as i was worried about the journey, i was unsettled for the first few days. = _, i was unsettled for the first few days. 2. if he is given time, hell make a first-class tennis player. = _, hell make a first-class tennis player. 3. when he was questioned by the police about the fire, he became tense. =_, 4.if you work hard, youll pass the exam. =_, youll pass the exam. =_,and youll pass the exam.5.she sat there and read some books.= she sat there _. 二complete each sentence using the past participle of the right verb.frighten trap follow shoot1) _ by noises in the night, the girl no longer dare to sleep in her room.2) the lady returned home, _ by two policemen.3) if _ in a burning building, you should send for help.4) although _ in the leg, he continued firing at the police.三fill in the blanks ,using the correct form.1.when _ (heat),ice will be changed into water.2._(attract )by the beautiful music,all people on the street stopped.3. tom dropped the glass ,_(break) it into pieces.4.even though _(speak ) to, the boy showed no response,5._(finish) his wok, he went home happily.6. _ (use) in this way, the word shouldnt be taken as a verb.四complete the following sentences:1._, the tree can grow better.如果给予更多的关注,这棵树会长得更好。2._in the office, he decided to find a different job for a change. 厌倦了办公室工作,他决定换一个工种。3_,the boy finally knew how to pronounce the word.教了好多次,这个男孩终于知道怎样读出这个单词。4._, the beauty of the scenery here will leave a deep impre
