A Review of Personal and Possessive PronounsTeaching aims:1. Have a comprehensive review of personal and possessive pronouns and be able to tell the differences between the four pronouns.2. Improve the abilities to read, write and retell.3. Encourage students to communicate more with others and learn more about others.Teaching important and difficult points:Flexibly using these pronouns in their speaking and writing.Teaching procedures: 1. Lead-inShow pictures one by one and at the same time ask the students to listen to the sentences. All of the sentences are what they have learned from the text. After that, ask students to repeat the sentences according to the pictures and what they have heard. Then ask them what the colored words mean in each sentence, which leads to the topic of personal and possessive pronouns.2. A chant practiceShow students a chant which includes all the personal pronouns. Lead students to analyze the the difference of usage according to the position of the pronouns in each sentence.3. Fill in the blank and make a conclusion of personal pronouns.4. Stand up and sayAsk students to stand up and say out the English version of each phrase if they know the answer. Compare which student is the quickest. During this process, students can further make it clear the different usages between the subject and the object. At the same time, they review some important phrases that they have learned.5. Different meanings of “it” Show more pictures and enlighten students to say out more sentences according to my tips. Since “it” ,as a personal pronoun, has many different meanings when used in different sentences,and some sentence structures are quite important and difficult for students, in this review class, I mentioned”it” to let students realize the importance of this pronoun.6. A gameProvide a Lost and Found Box which includes some of the students stationery. Walk around the classroom and ask several students whether the pointed stationery belongs to him or her. Then lead students to review the knowledge points of possessive pronouns.7. Fill in the blank and make a conclusion of possessive pronouns.8. Give students some sentences with errors and ask them to find out the errors and tell the reasons.9. Passage practice(1) Provide students a passage with some blanks and ask students to fill in the blanks using the correct possessive and personal pronouns.(2) Challenge timeDivide the whole class into two groups. One group members ask questions and the other group answers.(3) Retell the story with the third person.(4) Jigsaw reading10.
