Teaching Design(教学设计) 8A Module 2 Unit4 More practice( P.61) Culture corner( P.62)Show Class(展示课)Huang Juan(黄娟)Faku(法库)Donghu No. 2 Middle School(东湖二中)2014.5(二零一四年五月) Teaching DesignOxford English 8A Module2 Unit4More practice ( P.61) & Culture corner ( P.62)理论基础义务教育阶段英语课程的总目标是:通过英语学习使学生形成初步的综合语言运用能力,促进心智发展,提高综合人文素养。近年来,中考英语越来越注重对学生综合语言运用能力的考核,中考阅读理解题量逐年增多,知识面逐年拓宽,难度逐年增大。对学生的语篇领悟能力、合理判断能力和逻辑推理能力有了更高的要求,考查的词汇量也在逐年增加。为适应新课标要求,顺应中考英语阅读的发展趋势,并满足学生未来发展的需要,帮助学生提高英语阅读能力在英语教学中显得尤为紧迫。重视牛津英语教材中每一单元的More practice & Culture corner的阅读教学无疑是顺应新课改形势,提高综合语言运用能力的一个首选。一、教材分析牛津初中英语以话题为主线,任务为主导,辅以功能和结构项目,有效培养学生综合运用英语的能力。各单元围绕一个话题展开,内容联系社会生活,贴近学生生活实际,富有时代气息,体现时代精神。围绕话题内容的是一系列的课堂活动和要求学生完成的任务,学生通过体验、实践、参与、合作、交流和探究等方式,学习和使用英语,真正体现以学习者为中心的教学理念。教材将语言知识置于生动的语言情景之中,使枯燥的语言学习成为真实、有趣的实践活动。 本课内容就是牛津英语8A教材中第4单元关于发明创造这一话题的有效拓展和延伸。二、教学目标1、 语言知识: 认读和理解单词giant, ballpoint pen, editor, refill, ink, mess, tip, roll, success和短语right now, make a mess, dry easily, refer to.2、语言技能: 能运用略读,找读等阅读策略理解文章大意和细节。3、学习策略:学会运用网络资源和百科全书等工具查找信息。三、教学重难点教学重点: 培养良好的阅读习惯,掌握阅读技巧。教学难点: 培养学生自主学习与合作交流的能力。四、学生分析八年级的学生已经有了一定的英语基础,已经掌握了一定的阅读技巧。本课内容对于大部分学生不是很难。由于阅读材料生动活泼,贴近学生生活,且适应不同层次和水平的学生学习和欣赏,他们很愿意去读,而且善于发表自己的见解。他们也乐于在阅读的同时增加词汇量,开阔视野,提高阅读水平。但由于学生之间的个体差异,学生在展示课前需做好充分的准备。五、教学方法1、任务型教学法2、分组分层次教学法(“相信学生,利用学生;解放学生,发展学生。”所以我主要采用这两种教学法,把学生分成六个水平一样的学习小组,让他们分组展示教学任务。) 六、教学过程Step 1 Warming-up (3)Daily learning report.(学习英语的最终目的是使用英语。所以我会给他们3分钟让他们说一说他们感兴趣的内容。例如,他们最喜欢的人,他们最喜欢的笑话,自己喜欢的动物或他们最喜欢的句子等。充分利用课前3分钟的英语学习汇报让学生做热身运动,也为下面的新课学习作好了铺垫。)Step 2: 学习More practice ( P61)(利用课件,分组合作展示教学任务,以教促学。我会关注学生的教学展示过程,及时地给予帮助和评价,并适时拓展延伸。)1. 阅读文章第一段,回答: Do you know what the invention is? 2. 运用略读策略略读全文。Skim the article about the inventor of the ballpoint pen, Lszl Br, and tell what each paragraph is about.The ballpoint pen was a great success. Paragraph _How the ballpoint pen was invented. Paragraph _How to remember Br. Paragraph _3. Read the article again. Then answer the questions below. Why did Br decide to invent the ballpoint pen? How did Brs brother help him invent the ballpoint pen? How does the ballpoint pen work? How do people remember Br for his invention today?4. Read the title of the article, discuss:What does the word “giant” mean in the title? Why do we call Br a pen giant?
