Status and FunctionThis unit is mainly about words of clothes, asking for the price and English used while shopping. Section A aims at teaching students different kinds of clothes and how to ask for the price of different things.2Three-dimensional Teaching Targets(1) Knowledge Goalsa. Teach students some new words: dollar, T-shirt, sweater, skirt, hat, trousers, shorts, shoes, socks.b. Teach students how to ask for price correctly.(2) Ability GoalsHelp students improve their abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. (3) Emotion Goals Help students to link English with their daily life. 3. Teaching Important Points:(1) Make students to master the new words.(2) Help students to know how to ask for the price .4. Teaching Difficult Points:Make the students master these new words and enable them to talk about price freely.II. Learning Strategies1. Analysis of StudentsIts commonly known that students are interested in topics which have a close connection with their daily life. For example: They like going shopping, playing basketball and so on. As for me, I try to make students feel easy in my class. Then they will be more active. At the same time, the students may develop confidence in themselves. 2. Learning StrategiesAccording to their psychological characteristics and perceptive experiences, they may learn English autonomously and cooperatively under the various situations I created. That is learning by doing, learning in doing and learning for doing. III. Teaching Methods1. Teaching Procedures Step 1 Lead-in1. Ask students whether they want to buy gifts for their parents and friends because the Christmas is coming. If so please come to my shop and have a look. All things in my shop are on sale. They are very beautiful and cheap.Step 2 Presentation 1. Teach new words: T-shirt, sweater, skirt, hat, trousers, shorts, shoes, socks. 2. Distinguish different kinds of these words: the singular and plural form 3. Finish 1a 4. Teach new word dollar. Ask a question: Look at this picture carefully. Do you know this sign?($). 5. Teach new sentences: (1) How much is ? Its dollars.(2) How much are? They are Dollars. 7. Practice these sentences and ask students to do pair work 7. Finish 1b 8.
