减少非法野生动植物贸易 最终挽救受到威胁的动物不致灭绝 然而某些动植物种的商业开发利用和贸易依旧十分猖獗 已经导致某些物种数量的衰竭 有些甚至濒临灭绝 其它野生动植物种需要受到保护 确保其未来的存续 根据联合国环境规划署国际保护监测中心统计 全球有520种濒危和极危哺乳动物 503种濒危和极危鸟类 70种濒危和极危爬行动物和63种濒危和极危两栖动物 国际自然保护联盟 iucn 报告显示632种非洲两栖动物中约有28 濒于灭绝 联合国环境规划署报告显示4 000多种哺乳动物中有1 130种 而10 000多种鸟类中有1 183种属于渐危物种 美国自然历史博物馆馆长michaelnovacek博士表示联合国的数据同根据土地丧失和海洋破坏程度所反映的是一致的 大约有30 的物种可能在本世纪中期灭绝 全球共有高达5 428种动物 从昆虫 贝类到大猩猩和大象 全都面临威胁
