大学英语(1)(本科)教学大纲 课程名称:大学英语(1)(本科) 课程类型: 公共必修课 课程编号: 040352开课院(部):公共外语部 本课程学时学分:64学时,4学分/学期适用专业:全院非英语专业本科生 开课学期:第一学年第一学期 先修课程:无一、 课程简述课程性质:大学英语教学是高等教育的一个有机组成部分,大学英语课程是非英语专业大学生的一门必修基础课程。课程任务:大学英语教学是以英语语言知识与应用技能、学习策略和跨文化交际为主要内容,以外语教学理论为指导,以遵循语言教学和语言习得的客观规律为前提,集多种教学模式和教学手段为一体的教学体系。课程目标:大学英语的教学目标是帮助学生打下较扎实的语言基础,掌握良好的语言学习方法,增强自主学习能力,提高综合文化素养,使他们具有较强的英语综合应用能力,特别是听说能力,能用英语有效地进行口头和书面的信息交流,以适应社会发展、经济建设和国际交流的需要。二、 课程要求1. 教学方法综合使用任务型教学法、讲授法、情景教学法、讨论法等多种教学方法。2. 教学手段教学手段主要通过图表、投影、幻灯、录像、CAI及多媒体等3. 课外作业主要包括四级词汇,四级写作,四级翻译,四级阅读,小组演示,互动游戏等等。4. 辅导答疑课上积极回答学生的疑问,鼓励学生彼此交流沟通,及时发现问题、解决问题。课下以多种信息手段与学生保持联系并且及时解疑答惑。5. 考核方式及成绩评定(1)形成性考核形成性考核占课程总成绩的30%。形成性考核内容包括学生的平时学习情况和作业完成情况。学生的自主学习、课堂综合表现、小组学习和作业完成情况,作为形成性考核成绩的主要依据。(2)终结性考试终结性考试占课程总成绩的70%。考试按教学大纲的要求进行,统一命题,统一闭卷考试。考试内容紧密结合所学教材,重点考核学生的理解,能动英语的能力。三、 教材或者主要教学参考资料1. 吴晓珍.季佩英.范烨.全新版大学英语第二版综合教程1.上海:上海外语教育出版社.2014.6。2. 张宜.李静.刘淑霞.新发展大学英语听力教程1. 上海:上海交通大学出版社.2014.8。四、各教学环节学时分配 本科程安排在第一学期,每周四学时,一学期学完一册五个读写单元和听力单元,每单元安排10学时,除此之外,还包括四级辅导,课内外学习时数的比例不低于1:2。章 节章 节 名 称学 时第一单元Unit 1 Growing up (Reading)Unit 1 New Campus, New Life(Listening)四级听力辅导7学时 3学时2学时第二单元Unit 2 Friendship (Reading)Unit 2 Tales of Friendship(Listening)四级阅读之选词填空辅导7学时 3学时2学时第五单元Unit5 Work to Live or Live to Work (Reading)Unit5 Music, Sweet Music(Listening)四级阅读之段落信息匹配辅导7学时 3学时2学时第六单元Unit6 Romance (Reading)Unit6 Foreign Food Cultures(Listening)四级阅读之传统阅读辅导7学时 3学时2学时第八单元Unit8 Educational Problems (Reading)Unit8 Wonderful Movies(Listening)四级写作辅导四级翻译辅导7学时 3学时2学时2学时合计64五、课程内容Unit 1 Growing up (10+2学时)教学目的:Students will be able to:1.Grasp the main idea (the essence of writing is to write what one enjoys writing) and structure of Text A (narration in chronological sequence).2.Appreciate the narrative skills demonstrated in Text A (selection of details, repetition, coherence).3.Master the key language points and learn how to use them in context.4.Understand the cultural background related to the content.5.Express themselves more freely on the theme of Growing Up after doing a series of theme-related reading, listening, speaking and writing activities.6.Write a letter of congratulations in an appropriate way.教学重点、难点:1. Listening:Listen to the contents in pre-listening activities and the book New Development College English. 2. Speaking:Let students to talk about their experience of growing up.3. Reading:Do some exercises of fast-reading.4. Writing:Write a narrative about “Growing Up”and a letter of congratulations.5. Translating:Ask students to translate some sentences (make use of the important words, collocations and phrases they have learnt in this unit).第一节 Warming up activities & Global reading & Words learning(2 学时)一、Warming up activities: Ask students to talk about their experience of growing up and listen to the song Beautiful Boy.二、Global reading: Ask students to skim the text for 3 minutes and answer some questions. 三、Word learning: Lead students to read the new words and learn some important usages of them.第二节Detailed study of the passage(5 学时)一、Listen to the tape of the text. 二、Detailed learning of the passage Writing for myself (including the structure of the text and the usage of some important word & phrases & sentences).三、Text analysis of the whole passage. 第三节Listening and CET4 practice(3+2 课时)一、Listen to the content of Unit 1 New Campus, New Life in book New Development College English. 二、Explain the listening exams in CET4 and do some related exercises.复习思考题:1. After-class exercises: vocabulary, cloze and translation. 2. Writing exercise: My experience of growing up. (More than 120 words)3. CET 4 listening practice. Unit 2 Friendship (10+2学时)教学目的:Students will be able to: 1. Grasp the main idea (never delay expressing your true feelings to a friend) and structure of Text A (developing a story around a letter).2. Appreciate characteristic features of spoken English as demonstrated in Text A (spoken English is much more informal than written English).3. Master the key language points in Text A and learn how to use them in context.4. Understand the cultural background related to the content.5. Express themselves more freely on the theme of Friendship after doing a series of theme-related reading, listening, speaking and writing activities.6. Write a personal letter in an appropriate way.教学重点、难点:1. Listening:Listen to the contents in pre-listening activities and the book New Development College English. 2. Speaking:Let students to talk about their friends.3. Reading:Do some exercises of fast-reading. 4. Writing:Write a narrative about “My Friend” and a personal letter.5. Grasp the main idea (the author tries to define a typical workaholic in the American corporate world with the story of Phil) and structure of Text A.2.Appreciate the writing strategy and style demonstrated in Text A (to set the tone of irony by choice of words, selection of details, use of quotation marks, etc.).3.Master the key language points in Text A and learn how to use them in context.4. Understand the cultural background related to the content.5.Express themselves more freely on the theme of Work to Live or Live to Work after doing a series of theme-related reading, listening, speaking and writing activities.6. Unit 6 Romance (10+2 学时)教学目的:Students will be able to:1.Grasp the main idea (the way one reacts to unattractive people reveals ones true character) andstructure of Text A.2.Appreciate the narrative skills demonstrated in Text A (switching between tenses, change in narrators), the use of certain rhetorical devices (simile and metaphor) and the use of informal language in conversations.3.Master the key language points in Text A and learn how to use them in context.4.Understand the cultural background related to the content.5. Express themselves more freely on the theme of Romance after doing a series of theme-related reading, listening, speaking and writing activities.6.Write a letter of invitation and acknowledgement in an appropriate way.教学重点、难点:1. Unit 8 Educational Problems(10+4 学时)教学目的:Students will be able to:1.Understand the main idea (teenagers idleness and ignorance will seriously affect both themselves and society in general) and structure of Text A (two parts the authors concern and his proposed remedy).2.Learn how to write a cause-and-effect analysis.3.Grasp the key language points in Text A and learn how to use them in context.4.Understand the cultural background related to the content.5.Express themselves more freely on the theme of Educational Problems after doing a series of theme-related reading, listening, speaking and writing activities.6.
