Lead in Say the slogan together. “Be active in class. Dont be shy. Just try. Practice makes perfect.”T: How many years have you studied English ?Ss:Two. T: Do you like English? Ss:Yes. T: Do you like your English teacher?Ss: Sure. T: You like me. So please describe me in English. What do I look like?S1: You are very beautiful.S2: You are tall and thin.S3:T: So this is about my appearance. Then why do you like me? Tell me the reasons.S1: You are very kind.S2: Friendly.T: OK. This is about my personality. Read the two words together. . Words presentation1. Look at the chart in 1a, then discuss with your group mates. Try to fill in the chart with words to describe people. Presentation Show some pictures. Ask students to describe their appearance and personality. Show two different pictures of some famous people. Talk about their differences. 1. Showing the changesEvery student should say something about his or her own changes. . Listening 1. T: Bob hasnt seen some of his friends for four years. Now hes seeing his friends. Ss listen and try to fill in the blanks with the right words. . Pair work 1. Look at the picture in 1a and make conversations in pairs. 2. Ss work in pairs to ask and answer the appearance about Mario, Amy and Tina. 3. Let some pairs ask and answer in pairs. e.g. A: Did Mario use to be short? B: Yes, he did. He used to be really short.A: Whats he like now?B: Hes tall now. . Making conversations1. Tell Ss to make conversations according to the picture.2. Let some pairs act out their conversations before the class. e.g. A: Mario, you used to be short, didnt you? B: Yes, I did.
