Unit 4 I used to be afraid of the dark. ( Section A, 3a-3c)教学设计 一教材分析人教版英语教材采用了话题、功能、结构、任务相结合的编写思路,任务链式的活动设计循序渐进,重视培养学生的自主探究和合作学习能力。该教材的题材十分广泛,注重文化内容,有助于开阔学生的视野,提高学生的人文素养。九年级全一册共14个单元,每个单元分为Section A和Section B两大部分。Section A为体验和感知环节,是每个单元教学的基本内容。其中,1a2d围绕单元主题创设话题情境,呈现词汇和语法结构,并以“听力输入、口语输出”任务链的方式呈现目标语言;3a3b以短篇阅读为核心,提供更为丰富的语境,以使学生在阅读中充分体会目标语言;Grammar Focus及4a4c以语法内容为核心,呈现典型例句以及不同形式、不同层次的语言练习和语言活动,给学生创造观察、对比、发现和归纳的机会,让学生从关注语言形式自然地过渡到关注语言意义。Section B 对本单元话题进行拓展,重点培养学生的阅读和写作能力。其中,1a1d进一步丰富本单元的话题内容,提供更多的词汇和语言结构,从形式和内容上增加难度;2a2e以长篇阅读为核心,体现了读前、读中、读后的完整的阅读教学过程;3a3b是践行以读促写的独立板块,通过提供写作素材和语言提示引导学生根据本单元的目标语言整理信息,独立完成写作任务;Self Check涵盖了词汇、结构、功能等方面的评价练习,能引发学生思考和自主归纳,并培养学生的自主学习能力。从教材的整体布局不难看出,虽然在板块设计上有明显的语言技能训练区分,但整个单元在一个话题的指导下,通过不同的任务设计,充分训练了学生的听、说、读、写能力,而且这种训练是统一、配合进行的。Section A 部分的3a是教材改版后新增加的内容,从形式上看是阅读,实质上是对本单元基础目标语言的集中输入,同时强调让学生体会目标语言的表意功能;从内容上偏向故事性,而且在让学生体会目标语言的基础上渗透了丰富的文化内容和品德教育,体现了文化的多元性。本次课例选自九年级第四单元,本单元介绍了有关used to 的用法,丰富的语言将学生带入了变化给人们带来的快乐当中。耳熟能详的故事和文化背景极易激发学生的学习自信,而且学生在二语习得时逐步破除语言障碍与文化障碍的过程会给学生带来很多益处,不但使学生能更好地学习语言知识,而且能让学生在不同文化背景下成功地进行交际。Section A部分的3a是本课的教学内容,标题为From shy girl to pop star课文共三段,分别介绍了歌星Candy Wang 的背景,她的变化,以及这些变化给她带来的好的地方和不好的地方。还有以她的经历给人们的建议。这篇文章语言规范,内容紧凑,故事展开有序,初中生在阅读时能充分体会阅读带来的语言享受,并在此基础上形成自己的语言输出。对学生而言,能够激发他们的浪漫主义情怀。基于该阅读文本丰富的文化内涵,将这则阅读材料的教学定位如下:在基本阅读教学模式的结构(读前、读中、读后)下,培养学生的阅读策略,重在引领学生对真、善、美的体验和对英语文学语言之美的感知。二. 学生分析学生对这一类的变化故事比较熟悉,在阅读过程中能较好地根据自己的背景知识进行词义猜测、上下文语意揣摩等,从而扫清语言障碍,获得阅读的自信。学生比较乐意参与对语篇的解读,并有超越语篇来诠释文本内涵的语言基础和心理准备。三教学目标知识目标1)Learn background, shyness : interview, Asian, deal, dare, crowd, ton, private, guard, require 10 words; 2)Learn take up ,notanymore, deal with, get tons of attention, give up, hang out, a small number of, make it to the top, worry about”9 phrases 能力目标1)Ss can retell the article . 2)正确使用used to结构描述人物的变化。3)针对练习对语言知识进行整理、归纳的能力。情感目标1)Be active in class;2)Sense the positive part of changes 3)引导学生关注到变化中积极的一面,感受成长的魅力。教学重点1.通过阅读了解Candy Wang的背景,以及她的变化所带来的利与弊。还有以她的经历给青少年的建议。2.短语:take up ,notanymore, deal with, get tons of attention, give up, hang out, a small number of, make it to the top, worry about 的用法。教学难点含有used to 一般过去时的用法。四、教学策略词汇教学采取朗读的方式进行教学,让学生学会自学生词;口语教学pairwork 问答式的口语交际活动互相操练的方式五、教学过程Step 1: Free Talk (4mins)let students listen to a song and answer a question. Question: What did she use to do when she was young? Answer: She used to listen to the radio. She used to wait for her favorite songs【设计意图】通过歌曲引入话题,激发学生的学习兴趣。Step 2: learn the new words (3 mins)Ask one student to read the words and others read after him or her.【设计意图】学好新的词汇,为下面的阅读扫清障碍。Step 3: Before reading (2 mins)Show a picture of Wang Candy and the title of this article, then ask Ss to predict and answer some questions.1. What was the girl like in the past? 2. Is she shy or outgoing now? 3. What do you think the passage is about? 【设计意图】让学生学会借助图片、题目预测文章大概内容Step 4: while listening (5mins)(1) Listen to the tape and and identify the paragraphs 1-3 in which the information appears。 how Candys life has changedCandys advice to young people Candys background(2) Check the answers【设计意图】读前预测和话题讨论帮助学生做好阅读前的准备,听后根据要求找出每一段的大意。Step5 Careful reading one (4 mins)1.)Ask students to read paragraph 1 and then answer some questions about Candy Wangs background.1. What does Candy do?2. What did she use to be like?3. How did she deal with her shyness?4.
