I study by . 3. 掌握尽可能多的学习方法(in English)。 【教学难点】 掌握“verb + by + v - ing”结构。 【教学方法】 Listening and speaking. 【教学过程】Step 1 Lead - in 1. Ask some students to talk about their summer holidays. (Teacher shows a flashcard with the word Shanghai and asks two students to ask and answer about it.) Teacher shows the flashcard to the class and teaches the word “flashcard”. Then read and translate some words they have learned. 2. T: I like English. I often learn English by making vocabulary lists. What about you? How do you usually study for a test? Lead in the new lesson. Write the topic on the blackboard: Unit 8 How do you study for a test?Section A (1a - 1c) Step 2 Learning Objectives Showing the Learning objectives on the slide, ask a student to read them out to the class. 1. 学习 make vocabulary lists, make flashcards的正确运用。 2. 灵活运用 How do you study for a test? Ask the students to give out the ways of learning English. Then make a list of their answers on the blackboard. Teacher teaches the “vocabulary” and “pronunciation” at the right time. 2. 1a. Check the answers. After checking, read the ways to the students and ask students to put up their hands to show which things they checked. Count the numbers. 3. Ask students to write down other ways they study for an English test.Then ask some to read their ways to the class. Step 4 Listening 1. Ask the students to look through the pictures and tell how each student in the pictures is studying. 2. Play the tape for students to listen and do 1b. Then check the answers with the class. 3. Listen to the tapes again and ask the students to imitate to act the conversation in pairs.Step 5 Consolidation and project 1. Ask students to make similar conversations in pairs. Then ask a few pairs of students to ask and answer about the ways that they are using. Finish 1c. 2. Small competition: Make sentences in group of four, using the structure: verb + by / with gerund. 3. Make a survey : One student interviews other students, using the structures: How do you study .? I study by . Then the student report the results to the class. For example: In our group, Ren Leyan and Wang Yueyue usually study by doing lots of exercises. Chen Jiamian usually studies by making vocabulary lists. Xu Wenxi often studies by taking a lot of notes at class. Zhu Xianghuanoften studies by reading and imitating loud. Lu Wang likes to study by asking the teacher questions. 4. Ask a few more students to report in the same way. 【Homework】 Make conversations using the phrases in the chart.
