Master the new words and target language.3. Develop students reading and writing skills.4. How to talk about past events using past perfect tense.教法学法 Listening , speaking and discussing 教学时数 Period4 教程设计意图说明教学主见Step1. Ask some students to read the new words one by one .Step 2. Free talk. Let students talk about past events using past perfect tense. Step 3 Listening and doing .1. Say something about April Fools Day to the students.2. Call students attention to the four pictures. Ask, what is happening in each picture.3. Read the instructions to the class.4. Listen and finish 1c and 1d .5. Check the answers. Step4 Reading comprehension.Let students read the passage carefully and answer the questions.1. Why did supermarkets run out of spaghetti one April Fools Day?2. What did the TV show say the special water could do ?3.What did the TV stars joke have a bad ending?4. When did Orson Welles tell people aliens from Mars landing on the earth?5. Why did so many people believe Orson Welles?6. Which of these stories is the most believable? Which is the least believable? Why?7. Would you be fooled by any of these stories?Step 5 Read and get more details. 1. Do some explanations when necessary.2. Retell the passage and finish2d.Step 6 Homework Ask: Have you ever played jokes on others, especially on April Fools Day? Tell your funny story to class.To check if all the students can read the new words correctly.Help the students to get familiar with the target language in Section B .This part is designed to make students learn more details of the text. And train students reading skills.In order to master the target language well.To consolidate the contents well in this unit.检查学生是否已经会熟读上一节课预习的单词,建议先请一个成绩较好的同学来读,这样能起到是范的作用,随后再请几个成绩较弱的同学来读,及时鼓励。简单的问答可以知道学生对课文的预习情况,同时也锻炼学生的口头表达能力。这部分的听力有些难度,好在听前进行了一些解释,学生基本熟悉了所听内容,做起来就轻松些了。这些问题的准备要让学生独立完成,以便培养他们的独立思考能力。必要时给出帮助。对课文中某些难点的解释一定要详细,或者说对课文中么某些细节的解释一定要到位。板书设计Unit 12 Life is full of the unexpected.
