Unit 1 How can we become good learners?Section A (1a-1c)一、 教材分析本单元话题围绕学习本身,讲述了学习的障碍及对应的解决方法,对学生有重要意义。本节课是Section A 的第一课时,内容上侧重英语学习的方法,通过对学习方法的呈现及表达,引导学生认识“by+doing”结构,并通过听力练习及口语交流活动,为学生展示了该结构在英语中的运用及其基本特征。 二、 三维目标1. 知识目标:(1)Key word: textbook(2)Target Language:- How do you study for a test? - I study by. 2. 能力目标:能用how引导的特殊疑问句和by短语对学习方法进行讨论。3. 情感目标: 能与别人交流学习方法,形成相互交流相互促进的学习氛围。三、 教学重点 学习使用“by+doing”结构。四、 教学难点能够联系实际,运用“by+doing”结构谈论自己的学习方法。五、 教学方法Listening and speaking method.Task-based method.Communicative teaching method六、 教学过程Step 1: Warming up (The teacher leads in the new lesson by greeting.)T: Hello,boys and girls! From now on, you are a ninth grader.Congratulations to you and I wish you a great success this year!T: Today we will learn Unit 1 How can we become good learners? Learning how to learn is very important.Now can you tell me “How do you study English?”Then show some pictures on PPT and help the students talk about them and learn to say “by+doing”phrases such as by working with friends,by making word cards,by reading the textbook,by listening to tapes,by asking the teacher for help,etc.设计意图:在这一环节的学习中,以新学期的问候和希望为引子,在图片的提示和帮助下,展开师生,生生之间的交流,从而激活学生已有的一些与本单元话题相关的生活经验与语言积累,拓展相关词汇,为下面环节的顺利学习做好知识的铺垫及心理上的准备。Step2.PresentationLanguage StudyTeacher writes the pattern on the blackboard: - How do you study English ? - I study English by + V.-ing.Make a list of their answers on the blackboard. Teacher can teach the “textbook” at the right time. Step 3: 1a Check the ways you study English. Then add other ways you sometimes study.1.Ask the students to complete 1a.Then check the answers, after checking, read the ways to the students and ask students to put up their hands to show which things they checked. Count the numbers.2. Ask students to write down other ways they study for an English test. Then ask some to read their ways to the class. 设计意图:通过对学习方法的呈现及表达,引导学生认识“by+doing”结构,并为后面的听力做铺垫。Step 4:Listening (1b)1. The teacher guide students to oberve the text presented 1b.Then answer the questions:(1) How many people do you think there are in the conversation?(2) What are their names?(3) What do you think they will talk about in the conversation?2. Play the recording for the students to listen and complete 1b.Play it again if necessary,then check the answers together. 设计意图:通过引导学生观察活动1b所呈现的文字内容,了解对话中的人数及人物名字,为听力活动铺平道路。Step 5 Pair work(1c)The teacher asks two students to read the conversation in 1c to the class.Then ask them to do the pair work to make other conversations.After that some pairs should be asked to present their conversations to the class.设计意图:本环节通过pair work这个活动,对本单元的基本句型进行机械操练,使学生能够脱口而出。Step 6 Language pointsby asking the teacher for help 通过向老师求助1. by 介词,意为“通过,靠”,此处表示方法、手段,其后可接名词、代词或动名词形式。eg: He had to do all the work by computer.所有的工作他都得用电脑来完成。 I practice speaking English by joining an English club.我通过加入一个英语俱乐部来练习说英语。拓展 (1)by+交通工具(by后不加冠词),意为“乘/坐.” eg: I go to school by bus. 我乘公共汽车去上学。 ( 2 ) by+时间,意为“到.时(为止);在.以前”。 eg: I must be in bed by ten oclock. 我必须在10点之前睡觉。 (3)by+地点,意为“在.旁边”。 eg: We live by the sea. 我们住在海边。2ask sb for help 向某人求助eg: My sister asked me for help yesterday.昨天我姐姐要我帮忙。Step 7 SummaryHow do you study for a test?1. by working with friends2. by making word cards.3. by reading the textbook.4. by listening to tapes. 5. by asking the teacher for help6. by watching English movies. .Step 8.Exercise.
