First of all,Id like to talk about my understanding about this lesson.We have learnedsome words ahout animals and Look at _.instudent Book1.In this lesson we will use the sentences Look at that_.Its_.to describe animals with adjectives.This period is the first lesson oflearning. Itsthe necessary basicof thefollowing lessons.So this lesson is very important in this unit.2. Analysis of the studentsThe students in Grade 3 are about ten years old.They are really lively and active . For English,they are full of curiosity and freshness,but they lack of the self-study ability . They usually stop speaking English as soon as they leave class.Its not good for learning English. 三、Teachingaims1 Knowledge aims:(1)Tolisten, readand write the newwords:tall,short,thin and fat.(2)Be able to describe some animals with adjectives and the sentencesLook at that.Its.2 Ablility aims:(1)To develop the ability of obersvation.(2)To improve the ability ofusing English totalk freely.3 Emotional aims:(1)To build up the correct opinion and love animals and protect them .(2)Toimprove theaesthetic of the nature and love life better.四、Teaching key points and difficult points Key points1To master thenew words: tall,short,thin and fat.2To get the ability ofdescribing animals with the sentences Look at thatIts.3.Be able to do the actions of Lets do. TPR teaching method 5.Student-centered teaching method六、Teaching aidsAnimal toys,a projector and PPTcourseware七、Teaching procedureStep1.Warm-up/ Lead-in1、 Greetings:Make dialogues with the students in oral English.Purpose of my designing:It can promote the friendship between students and the teacher.2、Lead-in :Show some animal toys for the students to look at and talk about it. Then show the picture of a zoo.And tell the children:Today,lets go to the zoo . Well see more animals at the zoo. Purpose of my designing: The beginning can arouse the studentsinterest of study. Educate the students to follow the rules at the zoo.(The students will receive moral education while they are learning English .)Step2PresentationTo visit the zoo as the main line to learn thenew knowledge of this lesson.1Ill use CAI to show some pictures for the students toreview some words about animals.Its a brain storm.Then show a new friend to learn the word giraffe.2 Lets learn:Show the pictures to teach the new words tall and short.Emphasizethe pronunciation of them.After reading them ,lead the students to describe the giraffes with the sentences:Look at that_.Its_.Then perform the actions Be tall,be tall,be tall, tall,tall. Its the better preparation of Lets do.Teach the other two adjectives thin and short in the same way.Pay attention to the sound of thin.3. Play the video of Lets learn. Let the students listen and imitate .The purpose is to train the ability of listening and reading.Step3 Practice1.Lets do Play the video .Let the students do the actions while they are listening and speaking. Purpose of my designing: The activityis to arouse the childrento take an active part in . It can also help the students understand the meaning of the words.2.Guessing gameShow a part of some animals for the students to guess, then describe them in pairs.Such as(a picture of a panda)Purpose of my designing: This game can make the students be active in speaking English.Step4ConsolidationExtationThe purpose is to develop the skills ofusing English to the daily life. 1. Tell the students we can describe not only animals but also people. For example: (a picture of Yao Ming and Zhou Libo) Pay attention to the use of pronouns.2.CompetitionDivide the students into two groups to introduce the animal toys they have taken.Or describe their friends,their family,even or their teachers. Give congratulations to the winners.Purpose of my designing: This activity shows Learning by using, learning for using. Step5Homework / SummaryHomework :Purpose of my designing: In order to extend students ability of using English, its necessary to give students good and proper homework.1. Read and copythenewwordsfor 4 times.2Draw theanimal they like best and talk about to their family.Summary1、Sum up the language focus with the students.2、Lets sing the song At the zoo . Then educate the students to protect animals .Purpos
