Free talk T: The title of this unit is were trying to save the earth. Why do people save the earth? Whats the matter with the eatrh? Look at two pictures. The earth is seriously polluted. (save energy) Look at two more pictures. There are different kinds of environmental problems on the earth.(protect environment) To save the earth, we could save energy and protect envoron- ment. 2. Groupwork T: But what can we do to save energy and protect environment? (lead in new phrases: stop riding in cars,recycle books and paper and dont use paper napkin.) Discuss in groups.If necessary, write down on the opposite side of the paper. 3. 1a (1) Lead in T: Look at 1a. What can we do to save the earth? (2) Read the items. (3) Make an example. (4) Do 1a and check Ss answers. 4. 1b T: What about these actions?(show more actions.)Lets make a conversation to tell your partner if.Step 2 Listening1. 1c T: Besides these items, we may also read some books about saving the earth.Listen and check the things that Julia and Jack talk about.(read first) 2. 1d T: Listen again. Check the things that Julia is doing now, the things she will do in the future and the things she would never do. 3. Exercise T: Listen for the last time and fill in the blanks. 4.
