Explanation of difficult sentences(1). rarely do I surf the web as an Internet shopper myself. -The inverted order is used in a sentence beginning with a negative adverbial. Put at the beginning of the sentence, rarely is thus emphasized. Never have I met him before.(2).there I was supposed to put in THEIR product number and price. -the phrase be supposed to is used here to show that putting in the product number and price was beyond his expectation and he was quite angry about that. The phrase means should, be expected or required to do sth.(3). I went to one of the major search engines and searched using the words “ordering flowers online” or something to that effect. The present participle phrase using is used here as an adverbial of manner.
