教学设计人教版新目标英语八年级(下) Unit 6An old man tried to move the mountains. Section A 3a3c孟林 长春市九台区龙嘉德阳中心学校一教材分析本单元话题是学习中外有名的神话故事。Section A部分以中国神话故事为主线,要求学生能够听懂用英语叙述的几则故事,并能根据故事的相关信息发表自己的观点,模仿和运用语言。本课为Section A部分第二课时3a3c是在学习一篇有关美猴王的文章后,通过不同层次任务活动来提高阅读能力;从文章的内容来总结提炼故事内容;通过循序渐进的练习促进学生的文化理解和民族文化自豪感、培养学生的坚强意志和助人为乐的精神。二学情分析 西游记中美猴王的故事家喻户晓,初中的孩子们更是提及便兴趣盎然。本课的重点是让孩子们将熟悉的中国神话故事内容转换为符合英语表达习惯和思维的语言表达。所以教师应创设不同的任务活动,让学生们在情境中去体验、交流、实践运用目标语言。同时,要多关注学生的情感体验,分层教学。三. 教学目标A.知识与技能1.学习掌握下列词汇:object, magic, stick, hide, tail, turninto, excite, western2.能够根据故事的相关信息发表自己的观点,模仿和运用语言;3.帮助学生简单学会用一般过去时表达故事并初步学会用unless, as soon as, sothat引导的状语从句来连接故事;4.提高学生的阅读能力并学习讲述美猴王的故事。B.过程与方法1.指导学生采用自主、合作、探究的学习方法,将学习变成快乐的事;2.培养学生搜集和处理信息的技能,通过创设语境引导对语篇意义的理解;3.主要采用活动任务链来训练学生阅读技能,巩固目标语言,提高英语学科素养。C.情感态度和价值观1.通过学习本课的人物特点,鼓励学生表达喜欢孙悟空的真正原因;2.利用循序渐进的任务活动,促进学生文化理解和思维品质的形成,培养学生的坚强意志和助人为乐的精神。四教学重点1.掌握本课出现的课标词汇、常用表达和目标语言;2.阅读短文,获得相关的信息。通过层次化的练习来提高阅读能力。五教学难点1.引导学生学会学习,促进文化理解和思维品质形成。2.提高学生的阅读能力并能够简单讲述美猴王的故事。六教学策略 Group discussion , Situation approach ,Task-based teaching methods, Activities七教学过程Step GreetingsStep Duty reportStep Lead-inActivity 1: Activating the students prior knowledge and presenting some new words.T: Do you know him?Yes,hes 六小龄童.Show some pictures to the Ss and let them watch an exciting video.Activity 2: Then let the Ss talk about Journey to the West by asking these questions:Do you know them?Who do you like best? In which book are they the main characters?Step Pre-reading Activity 3: Brainstorming(Play a funny games in groups)T: Let the Ss look at a mind map on the screen. Each group choose one topic.Ss: Work in groups and brainstorm the knowledge that relates to the Monkey King.T: Create a mind map on the blackboard according to the students answers.Activity 4:Take out of the Learning Guide Plan and read the key words in groups.Step While-readingActivity 5: Scanning and Answer the questions in the passage 3a.T: Read the passage and answer the questions, please .1. Which book is talked about?2. Who is the main character?3. What is he like?Ss: Answer the questions as quickly as possible. Activity 6: Identify the main ideas in each paragraph in the passage 3a.T: What do you think the reading passage about? Please find out the main ideas of each paragraph quickly and correctly.Ss: Look at the questions about the passage 3a and predict what each paragraph might be about.Paragraph1: The Monkey King is new to pupils in England but not to Chinese children.Paragraph2: The Monkey King is not just a normal monkeyhe can do magical things.Paragraph3: Western children are also becoming interested in the story of the Monkey King.Activity 7: Read again and finish the following tasks.Paragraph 1 :Question: What happened in November 1979?Paragraph 2 :Task : Read the second paragraph and complete the chart below.(3b)What he can doWhat he cannot doParagraph 3 :Question: Why are children interested in reading about the Monkey King?Ss: Discuss in groups and read the passage in different ways.Activity 8: Reading for the detailsSs: Find out the important words and phrases and inferring the meaning.Ss: Underline the difficult sentences (unless, as soon as, sothat)and discuss with the help of the Learning Guide Plan.T: Gives necessary explanations.Activity 9: Read aloud(1) T: Play the tape and ask Ss to read after the tape and pay attention to the sense groups.(2)T: Choose some students to read the passage again to check whether they have problems. Correct their mistakes in pronunciation if necessary.Step Post-readingActivity 10: 3c.Disappearing words.(消失的单词游戏)T: Show the four complete sentences in 3c on the whiteboard. Tell the Ss to put their heads down and not look up at the board.
