(2) With no light outside, it felt like midnight. (3) It was hard to have fun with a serious storm outside. (4) He finally fell asleep when the wind was dying down at around 3:00 a.m. (5) Although the storm broke many things apart, it brought families and neighbours closer together.Teaching important points:1. Listen to the passage and answer the following questions 1) What was the weather like before the heavy rain started? 2)What was the neighborhood like after the storm?Keys: 1.) He finally fell asleep when the wind was dying down at around 3:00 a.m. 1)fall asleep 进入梦乡,睡着asleep adj. 睡着 区别sleepy, asleep & sleep sleepy形容词,“困倦的;瞌睡的”,可作定语和表语。如:Ill go to bed. Im sleepy. 我要去睡觉了,我困了。asleep形容词,“睡着的”,强调状态,常作表语。 fall asleep“入睡;睡着”。sleep 动词/名词,“睡,睡眠”,强调动作,常作谓语,表语或主语。 2)die down逐渐变弱,逐渐平息5. When he woke up, the sun was rising. rise不及物动词,(价格、水位等)上涨;(月亮、太阳等)上升。6. Fallen trees, broken windows and rubbish were everywhere. fallen和broken为过去分词,可作前置定语修饰名词。 他们正在打扫院子里的落叶。They are cleaning the fallen leaves in the yard.Step 6 summ
