I get such a strong feeling of satisfaction when I see the animals get better and the look of joy on their owners faces. Volunteering here is a dream come true for me. I can do what I love to do and help others at the same time.重点难点: To educate students to take volunteer work. 教学思路: 阅读部分是这节课的核心内容,它的任务不仅仅是训练和提高学生的阅读技能,也涵盖了实际交际、语法、词汇和知识点等内容,同时它还培养学生正确的情感态度、价值观等。 通过让学生找出文中的不定式,来使学生认识了解不定式这种语法结构。 教学方法: Listening ,reading, writing and speaking. 教具学具: multimedia, blackboard 教学过程: Step 1. Greeting and review T: Good morning ,class! Ss: Good morning, teacher ! How many verbal phrases did we learn last class ? Can you say them out ? Lets have a try: clean up, cheer up , give out , come up with, put off ,put up , call up , used to , care for . Step 2. Lead-in Lead in by asking the following questions:What kind of volunteer work can you do ? Have you ever taken part in one of them ? How do you feel in the volunteering ? Show some pictures to help them. Step 3. Before-reading 1.T:Look at picture 1. What does she do ? Whats her job ? S1:She is an animal doctor. T: Do you like animals ? Ss: Yes. T: If you are an animal doctor . First we could care for animals. We could take a shower for them . We could feed animals. Answer my questions:1.Whats the title of the text ?2.Do the students work for money or do they work for free?3.What word in the title helps us get the answer?4.Are the volunteers young or old? How do we know?Look at picture 2 . The boy is Mario Green .He comes from Riverside High School . He loves animals .Picture 3. The girl is Marios classmates. She is Mary Brown .She is a book lover. They give up several hours each week to help others . Do you want to know about them ? Lets learn more about them. First lets learn some new words. Step 4 . Reading 1. Read the passage in 3a silently and as quickly as you can to catch the main idea. Answer the question: What do Mario and Mary volunteer to do? 2.Read the passage carefully and silently to find the specific ideas. And finish the following tasks. Task One :True or False. 1).Mario and Mary give up several hours each week to help others. 2).Mario wants to learn more about how to care for animals. 3).Mary could read by herself at the age of three. 4).Volunteering here is a dream come true for Mary. Task two :Fill in the forms (Show the forms on the PPT) 3. Read the article again and answer the questions in 3b. 1).Why do Mario and Mary volunteer to help others ? 2).What do they say about volunteering ? 4. Read aloud. First pronounce the new words aloud according to the phonetic symbols by themselves, then check their pronunciation , and offer help if necessary .Finally read aloud the passage ,and then try to retell it. Step 5. Fill in the blanks according to the passage Use infinitives to complete the sentences in 3c. Step 6. Practice Fill in the blanks Step 7.
