The topic is about the food, which is closely related to our daily life. It can easily arouse the interests of the students by various teaching method.Learning situation analysisStudents in grade seven have a certain amount of vocabulary. They are able to talk about the daily things in oral English. At the same time, their desire for learning the new things is strong. Learning procedureStep1 warming up and lead inLead in by a free talk. I open a new restaurant. Here are some promotion activities in my restaurant. The winner of the excellent group and the students who achieve the learning goals will get the free meal chances. Show “Learninggoals”tothestudents.Design purpose: warming up by a advertisement can arouse the interest of the students and lead in the topic of the food naturally.Step 2 word learningShow some food and their English words to the students. Teach students to read these words about food. (Show the words on the board to students.)Show the English words on the cards and ask students the Chinese meaning of the words.Show some pictures of some food and let students say the English words about food.Design purpose:The main task of this step is to teaching the basic vocabulary. According to the New Criterion of curriculum, English should be used as a language tool. So the sentence structure are practiced by making conversation.Step 5 ListeningDo listening practice in 2b.Ask students to share their answers. And check answers.Design purpose: Its important for the students to grasp the key information when they do listening exercise. When do this exercise, the listening strategy should be taught before listening. Step6 Group workMy restaurant need some waiter/waitress.Who would like to be the waiter/ waitress?Others group members can be the customer.Work in groups and make a role play.Design purpose:In this part, students are required to play a role in the real restaurant situation.
