To master the words and phrases. 2. To make polite requests with the target languages.3. To help parents do housework at home.Teaching importances: words and phrases: chore, dish, do the dishes, trash, take out the trash, sweep, make ones bed, fold, living roompatterns: - Could you please cleans the living room?-Yes, sure. / Sorry, I cant.Teaching difficulties:To make polite requests and answer them with the target languages.Teaching aids: Multimedia coursewareTeaching methods: Audio-lingual methodsTeaching plan:Step 1. Warming up Ask the students some questions: Is everyone here? Whats the weather like today? How do you ask others to help you politely? Step 2. Lead- in 1. Ask the students these questions: Do your parents often do the housework at home? What kind of chores do they often do?2. Let the students guess what kind of chores I often do at home.Step 3. New materials1. Teach the new words and phrases with pictures.2. Let students find out four kinds of chores in the picture in 1a . Then present the main patterns. 3. Practice the patterns like below: - Could you please sweep the floor/do the dishes/.? -Yes, sure. / Sorry, I cant.4. Make conversations in pairs .(1c)Step 4. Listening and practicing: 2a,2b,2c1. 1b: Listen and check () mom or Peter. Then check the answers in groups.2. 2a,2b: (1)Listen and Check “yes” or “no”. (2)Listen again and draw lines to the reasons. (3)Check the answers together. 3. 2c:Make conversations between Peter and his father.Ask some pairs to act in class.Step5. Role-play:2d1. Listen to the tape and answer the questions: (1)What does the sister want the brother to do? (2)Why do they need to do these chores?2. Let students read and explain the language points in groups. If they have questions, the teacher will help them.3. Role-play the conversation.Step 6. Summary1.Let the students tell us what we ve learned in this period.2.Do some exercises.Step 7. A game: Ask the students to guess what chores is doing? Step 8.Interview 1. Ask your good friend these questions: What chores do you do at home? How often do you do these things?2. Ask one or two students to give us a report like this one: Hello! Im is my good friend. He/She does the dishes and cleans the living room five days a week. I think he/she is a good son/daughter.
