It is a further exploration of the knowledge in unit11, which can consolidate Ss learning. From my point of view, the course should place the input of language at first, then move to the output of training. It needs to combine the sentence pattern “What did you do.?” with daily activities to achieve the communication goal.2Analysis of studentsSs have learned the past tense in unit11. That is to say, the students have found their bases of the knowledge point. So. In this lesson, students main task is to master the new words and expressions and go over the usage of past tense. The teacher needs to care students abilities on listening and speaking. 3Teaching aims1. Knowledge aims: 1) to grasp some words and phrases, like badminton, camp, went to the beach, did my homework, went to the cinema etc. 2) to grasp the sentence patterns, like what did you do.? 3) to go over the simple past tense2. Competence aims: 1) be able to communicate with others by using What, Who questions 2) be able to describe the past activities with the learned knowledge proficiently.3. Affection aims: 1) to cultivate the quality of unity and spirits of sports among Ss4Teaching key points and difficult points1. Teaching key points:1) key vocabulary. 2) talk about recent past events 2. Teaching difficult points: 1) talk about recent past events. 2) practice Ss listening and speaking skills5Teaching methods1. Communicative teaching method, Task-based teaching method6Teaching aidsPPT, blackboard, projector, textbook7Teaching proceduresStep1: Begin the class by greeting the students ,and the students(Ss) make response.Lead in Step2: Play a song (Bingo) and sing with Ss. Show the lyrics of the song and let Ss to find out the past tense. Invite one student to show his answer (was, had) and give some encouragements. Then, lead in the topic of this unit.Before listening Step3: Invite one student to make conversation like “- What did you do last weekend? - I went shopping. - Oh, It seems interesting.” ( give the student praise by saying “well-down, fantastic etc.”)Step4: Move to 1a by saying “ I have a good friend and her name is Lucy. She had a very wonderful weekend. Can you guess what Lucy did last weekend? Then, show six pictures on PPT. Ask Ss to speak out the activities and finish the task in 1a. Step5: Get Ss to answer the questions according to 1a. Like “-In picture a, what did Lucy do last weekend? - She did her homework.” Write the phrases on the blackboard one by one and let Ss to read.Step6: Give Ss 3mins to memorize the phrases. Then, play a guessing game. Ask Ss to guess what activities are in the pictures. While listening Step7: Move to 1b by saying “ We have learnt about what Lucy did on her weekend. But do you know when Lucy did that? ” Play the tape and make Ss to finish the task in 1b. Check the answers and give some praise to Ss. Step8: Move to 2a. Play the tape and ask some Ss to show their answers. Encourage Ss to give them some applause.Step9: Activity of finding out Who Am I? Play the tape again and let the Ss match C (Carol), J(Jack) or B(Becky) to each sentences in 2a. Then, ask the whole class to read these sentences.After listeningStep10: Move to 2b. Have Ss finish the pairwork task. Ask two pairs to perform and give some comments. Step11: Practice. Divide the class into girls group and boys group. Each group need to choose a represent to write the answers on blackboard. After counting the points, the winner can get some prizes. Show some exercises on the PPT and give 3mins to Ss. Then check answers, award the winner and encourage the rest Ss.Step12: Make a brief summary. Assign some homework and end the lesson.9 Blackboa
