Learn how to talk about what people were doing in the past. 3、Moral object: Let students learn to help each other in difficult times.二、Teaching key and difficult points:Talk about past events using the Past Progressive Tense properly.三、Teaching procedures:Step 1 Lead-in 1.Greet everyone.2.Talk about the heavy rain a few days ago, Ask students “What were you doing when the heavy rain came?” to lead in to the class.Step 2 Explanation1、Review the Present Progressive Tense. 2、Explain the Past Progressive Tense and some basic sentence patterns. Then make an example.By making a comparison between the Present and Past Progressive Tense, we can help students to understand and use the Past Progressive Tense better.Step 3 PresentationShow three pictures on PPT, ask students to practice the dialogue with their partners by asking and answering: - What is/are he/she/they doing now ? - He/She/They is/are -What was/were he/she/they doing yesterday.?-He/She/They was/wereStep 4 Activities1a Where were the people at the time of the rainstorm? Match the statements with the people in the picture.1b Listen to the TV report and circle the correct responses.1c Talk about what the people were doing at the time of the rainstorm.
