Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came?Section A (2a-2d) 教学设计一、教材分析本课是人教版新目标英语八年级下册第五单元第二课时内容,以“Whatwereyoudoingwhentherainstormcame?”为中心话题,让学生通过学习和运用过去进行时,准确地描述过去正在发生的事情。本节课的目标是让学生理解过去进行时并及when引导的时间状语从句在实际语境中的运用,并让学生能够用这些话题句型谈论文中的故事及描述图片中的情境。并培养学生在困境中互帮互助的品质。这些内容与生活关系较密切。二、学情分析学生在七年级下册就学过现在进行时,并已经掌握了如何运用现在进行时来描述日常活动的技巧,有了一定的知识基础,这些都有利于他们学习过去进行时。三、教学目标1、知识目标:掌握本课的单词alarm闹钟,begin开始,suddenly突然, heavily在很大程度上, strange奇怪的。 短语go off (闹钟)发出响声, pick up(=pick up the phone)接电话。2、能力目标:1能正确使用过去进行时初步交谈过去发生的事。 2提高抓取和记录关键信息的听力技能。3、情感目标:1培养学生在交谈中表达过去的动作在某一时刻发生,使学生提高自己的语言表达能力,并促使学生养成勤于观察的好习惯。2通过小组合作的方式,培养学生在困难的时候互相帮助的品质。4、学习策略:1通过情境学习词汇和短语,在情境中操练、理解并学会运用;2采取Pair work或Group work问答式的口语交际活动,运用表达方式和句型互相操练“过去某一时间正在做某事”;3 采取讨论图片,预测听力内容的听力方式训练听力技能;4采用Role-play的学习策略,利用课件自主学习,展开课堂教学。5、文化意识:了解在日常生活中如何应对突发情况。四、教学重难点重点:1掌握词汇rainstorm,suddenly,heavily,go off,pickup,atthattime,somanytimes等,并学以致用。2过去进行时态的结构和用法;难点:1过去进行时和when引导的时间状语从句的理解和运用。 2能够用英语谈论过去发生的难忘的事情,能用英语来讲述故事;五、教学方法根据我校“211三案引学”的教学模式,采取听说教学法,情境教学和任务型教学模式,按照“三案”进行互动教与学。六、学习策略采用Role-play的学习策略,利用课件引导学生进行小组合作和探究学习。七、教学过程Step 1 Warm-up1 Preview the key words and phrases in this section.1)、请根据中文意思写出下列重点单词。1.暴风雨n. _ 2.闹钟n. _3.开始v._4.在很大程度上;大量地 adv. _5.突然;忽然 adv. _6.奇怪的;奇特的 adj. _2)、请认真阅读课本,找出下列重点短语。7.(闹钟)发出响声_ 10.等待_8.接电话_ 11.洗澡_9.在的时候_ 12.车站_2 Review the basic sentence pattern of the past progressive tense.Scene 1: Let students look at the pictures and ask and answer questions.T: What is the boy doing now?S: He is playing football.T: What was the boy doing just now?S: He was playing football.【设计意图】 复习现在进行时,引出过去进行时。老师提问,学生回答,帮助学生初步感知过去进行时的句型,同时可以为这堂课的句型学习做好铺垫。Scene 2: Look at these pictures. It was raining heavily. There was a rainstorm then. Ask and answer like this:A: What was doing when the rainstorm came?B: She/He was when the rainstorm came.【设计意图】给出暴风雨和不同人物的图片,通过对已学知识的巩固,导出一般过去时完整的句型结构,帮助学生用过去进行时进行图片的描述,从而掌握对这一时态的运用。Scene 3: The students were having a P.E. class on the playground in the picture. Ask and answer like this:A: What was/were doing when Miss Zhu came?B: was/were doingwhen Miss Zhu came.【设计意图】出示学生生活中的幻灯片,真实的情景使学生学会如何表达并容易接受所要学的新知识。另外,通过提问与回答的形式鼓励学生勇于开口,促使学生积极参与,活跃课堂氛围。Step 2 Listening1 Talk about the five pictures T: Look at the pictures. What happened in the pictures? Where was the boy in each picture? And what was the boy doing in the picture?2 Work on 2aT: Well, here is a story about a boys day. Listen and find out “Why was yesterday a terrible day?” And then number the pictures.Then lets check the answers.3 Go through the five sentences and make predictions about the blanks.I _ so busy _for the umbrella that I didnt see a car coming.I took a hot shower and _ some warm food.My alarm didnt go off so I _ up late.I _ for the bus when it began to rain heavily.I _ to the bus stop but I still missed the bus.4 Work on 2bT: Listen again carefully. And then check the answers. 【设计意图】这部分听力要求学生听完男孩的独白后,根据故事发生的顺序排序,语段较长,语速较快,因此,可先对图片内容进行讨论,根据插图学生还是能较快地排好序。第二遍听力要求抓住细节填空,难度加大,因此可先对听力内容进行预测,既可以检测学生对所学内容的掌握程度并帮助学生深层次的理解听力材料,又可以为下面的对话操练做铺垫,同时提高学生听录音记录信息的能力。Step 3 PresentationUse the information in 2a to retell the story in a conversation between the boy and a TV reporter.Sample: The boys unlucky dayTV reporter: Tell us what happened yesterday morning.Boy: My alarm TV reporter: So, when the rainstorm suddenly came, what were you doing?Boy: I was waiting for TV reporter: When a car came, what were you doing? Boy: I was looking for TV reporter: When you went home, what did you do?Boy: I took a and 【设计意图】模仿训练、巩固过去进行时态的相关知识,提高学生知识运用能力。通过运用和表演,复习新知,促使学生们积极参与,让学生感受成功的愉悦,也活跃课堂。Step 4 Role-play1 Let students listen to the tape and find out what these numbers (7, 8, 9, 3) mean.Answers: 7, 8, 9 are all different times. The number “3” means Mary called Linda altogether 3 times.2 Ask the students to read the conversation and answer the questions:1). What was Linda doing at seven last night?2). What was Linda doing at eight? 3). What was Linda doing at nine?4). Why did Mary call so many times?3 Let students discuss with their partner and fill in the blanks according to the conversation.Mary called Linda many times last night because she _, but Linda didnt _.
