Step 3 Pre-reading (2 minutes)Task 1: Read the title and the picture: Purpose: Let the students guess what things maybe talked about according to the title and the picture. T: Look at the picture and the title: Qomolangma - the Most Dangerous Mountain in the World? Is it about the dangers or the beauty of Qomolangma?Step 4 While-readingPurpose: Design different tasks to train the reading skills and divide the passage into three paragraphs to lower the difficulty of reading. All of these are aimed at arousing the students interest in reading and in English. Task 2: Matching (1 minute) Purpose: Let the students read through each paragraph quickly (20 seconds for Para.1, 10 seconds for Para.2, and 15 seconds for Para.3), and match each paragraph with its main idea in order to train the reading skill - Skimming.Reading strategy - Skimming: Look through to find the main idea of each paragraph.
