Do you have a favorite song?3. What facts do you know about your favorite singer, band or song?Ask Ss to talk about something related the topic singer,music that they are familiar with. And then set the scene about Country music, Show pictures ,music by PPT. Students talk about something related the topic singer,music that they are familiar with.Activate the Ss to regard the topic of music and create a relaxing atmosphere.Step 2Presentation(10mins)Challenge memory.students read after teacherShow some funny pictures and sentences on PPT and then ask the Ss to guess the meaning of the new words.1. Find some students to answer.2. Students say together3.Students study and read the words4.First the students read after the teacher, the practice in pairs.Through Challenging, to arouse Ss learning interest, and help them to learn the new words and phrases which they may come across while reading, pave the way for the following learning and cultivate the ability of anticipating.Step3(10mins)While- reading There are two tasks for the Ss. And show Country Music Fact Sheet on PPTWhere it is from: _What kind of music it is: _A famous country music place in Nashville: _A famous country music singer: _The number of records he has sold: _And check the keys.First reading:Ss read the article as quickly as they can ,make notes or underline the main ideas and try to find the topic sentences of each paragraphSecond reading: Read the passage and complete the fact sheet.The two tasks areaim to developSs readingability. Skimming for the main idea of the article, and scanning for the specific information. And then get a deep understanding of the article. Step 4 Post-reading (15mins)Check the answers, join them, giving suggestions, and offering help when they need.
