Unit 2 What time do you go to school ?The main content:(概况)The main content of this unit is arranged around the following special question sentences :What time / When do you ? Students may start their topic with their daily life and timetable for the weekdays . After learning this unit , students should learn to make use of time and arrange their study and daily life in a suitable way .Teaching aims :(目标) The main content of this unit is to ask about and express the time with the special questions led by when and what time . Learn the adverbs about frequency . Learn to make a play for the living and studying activity with the target language and learn to arrange the work and rest time and their own studying and extra-curricular activities rationally .The knowledge and skills :(知识与技能)1. Master the key words and sentences.(1)Key words: up, get up, dress, get dressed, brush, tooth, shower,usually, forty, fifty, (2) Sentences :What time do you usually get up, Rick?I usually get up at six thirty.2. To ask for and talk about daily routines. 3. Be able to talk about time using what time4. Develop students listening and speaking skills Process and methods :(过程与方法)With the studying strategies of Summarizing, Accumulating , Role playing and comparing, the teaching and gets students to do pairwork and game activities to learn to ask and talk about time by using teaching pictures, objects (a clock)or courseware and so on .Get students to do role play for consolidation and encourage them to ponder, summarize and accumulate in studying .Emotional Attitude and Value :(情感、态度和价值观)Educate students to appreciate time.Teaching key and difficult points :(教学重难点)Key Points :1. Greetings.T: Good morning , everyone .Ss: Good morning , Miss Zhang .T : Glad to see you.Ss: Glad to see you , too.2. Lead-in.Show a picture to students and let the students guess : Whats it ? The teacher can say like this : Its a new friend. It has a round face. It has three hands. It has no feet, but it can walk. What is it ? Can you guess? (A clock. )step 2 Presentation1. Teach some new words and phrases . Show a picture on the screen.( Monkeys see , monkeys do )T : Look , whats this ?Ss :It is a clock.T: What time is it now ?Ss: Its six oclock .T: What do you usually do at this time ?Ss: I usually get up at six oclock. (help the students answer in English)Write get up on the blackboard and lead students to read it. Then show more pictures and teach the following phrases in the same way :go to school, get dressed, brush teeth, eat breakfast, take a shower2 .Get the students to practice new phrases by playing games . ( Who has good memory )3. Teach Activity la .T : As we know, time is very important and there is a famous sayingAn hour in the morning is worth two in the evening. Now ,please tell me what you do in the morning , in the afternoon and in the evening . After they answer the questions , say ,“ There are some daily things we can do .Lets read the phrases in Activity la and match these actions and the time of day .”Get the students to match the words with the pictures and finish Activity la. Lead students to have a look at the picture and read the example conversation. Then explain some language points.(1) What time do you usually get up你通常几点起床?I usually get up at six thirty. 我通常六点半起床 。这是个常用句型,用于询问对方具体的日常作息时间。Usually是个频度副词,表示做某事的频率。如What time do you usually go to school?你通常几点钟去上学?I usually go to school at seven .我通常七点钟去上学。 (2) brush teeth 刷牙teeth是名词tooth的复数形式 ,意思是“牙齿”。如:This baby only has four teeth. 这个宝宝只有四颗牙齿。(3)take a shower“洗澡,洗淋浴”,还可以说have a shower. 如He likes to take/have a shower in the morning.他喜欢早晨洗淋浴。4. After Activity l a , get the students to play lucky turn plate , let the students to act the teacher .5. Teach Activity 1b.T: In this activity, we will hear some information about Rick s daily routines . Listen carefully and match the times with action. Draw lines from the clocks to the pictures. Finish this activity individually. Later Ill check your answers.Play the tape twice for students to listen.The first time, they just need to listen and match the times with the actions. The second time, repeat after the recording and check the answers .Step3 Practice2. Pairwork. (Activities lb &.1c)First, lead students to read the example conversations in the speech bubbles. Then divide the class into pairs to make conversations using the sentence structure “What time do you ? I at ”Tell them they can ask and answer questions about each others schedule time using the phrases in Activity la . Give them enough time to do this task.As they work, move around the room checking the progress and offering help as needed . Finally invite several pairs to present their conversations.Step4 ConsolidationPractice Activity 1b .First, give several minutes for students to read the some information about Rick s daily routines .Then ask them to ask and answer , let the students role play the conversation .T: Who are talking?Ss: An interviewer and Scott.T :What are they talking about?Ss: The interviewer is asking some information about Rick s daily routines.T:What time does he get up ?Ss: He gets up at six thirty .T :What time does he take a shower ?Ss: He take a shower at six forty .T : What time does he usually eat breakfast ?Ss: He usually eat breakfast at seven .After this , divide the class into small groups to talk about the form ,then get them role play . Give them enough time to do it. As they work, move around the room checking , the progress and offering help as needed.Finally. Invite
