Unit 9 What does he look like?(第一课时)教学设计一、教学目标1. 能用英语描述人的外貌,包括身高、体重、发型2. 学习完成任务所需要的语言:1)词汇:hair, curly, straight, tall, medium, height, thin, heavy , always2)句子:-What does he look like?- She is of medium build, and she has long hair.3)语法:能区别is与has的用法二、教学步骤1. 明确目标,情境导入(板书:Unit 9 What does he look like?)T: Hi, boys and girls. Look at me, what do I look like?Am I tall or short?Am I thin or heavy?Do I have straight hair or short hair?【事先做好图片,分别有关发型(长发,短发,卷发直发),有关身高,体形。】 语言输入、词汇句型教学【设计意图】教师分别呈现问题,分步呈现相关词汇;最好呈现对教师本人的描述:Im tall, Im thin, and I have short, straight hair.学生在习得词汇的基础上初步感知从三个维度描述认得外貌特征。2) 词汇巩固(生词领读)Now lets read all these words together: short hair, curly hair, long hair, straight hair, tall, short, medium height, thin, heavy, medium build.T:(指着黑板上的生词)现在请大家观察一下,你能找出几对反义词呢?S1: short longS2: short tallS3: thin heaveyS4: straight curlyT: Great! 其实当我们记了一个单词以后,我们可以想想它的同义词或者反义词,这是我们记忆单词,扩大词汇量的好方法。3)What do you look like? Write something and share【设计意图】学生使用词汇描述自己4)What does your best friend look like?【设计意图】描述朋友,然后阅读猜测,既激发兴趣,又练习了听力。2. 听力训练,逐步深入1)读图T: (指着1a中的图片)Look at the picture, where are they? What are they doing?【设计意图】获取听前信息T:(指着1a中主题图)Now there are many people in the station . What do they look like?【设计意图】激活目标语言2)语言输入、听力活动1)T:(指着1a中主题图中的人物)Amy is going to meet one of her friend. Look at these people, who is Amys friend? What does he or she look like? Lets listen to the tape and help Amy find her friend, OK? Amy现在要找到她的朋友,让我们一起听录音帮她找到朋友好吗?(再用Amy过渡到听力)T: For the first time, just listen, try to understand the meaning and find out Amys friend. 请听第一遍,尽可能理解录音的意思,先帮Amy找出她的朋友。(第一遍不填空,只听,理解,如果学生能找出Amy的朋友就说明他们理解了录音的意思)【学生听仔细录音第一遍,尽量理解录音的内容。】2)T: Now listen again and fill in the blanks in the picture.现在听第二遍,完成1a中的填空。【学生听录音第二遍并填空。】6. P41, 1c,语言输入与输出1) T: Amy is very glad because she found her friend. Now, suppose one of the people in the picture above is your friend. Describe your friend and ask your friend will find him or her. 假设1a图中有一个人是你的朋友,请描述你的朋友,让你的同伴找出你的朋友。2) T: Now Ill ask two students to do as an example.
