Unit9 What does he look like?第一课时说课稿一、Analysis of the teaching material It is the ninth unit in this book.and it is the first lesson of the unit ,its also a very important lesson.in this lesson, students learn to talk about how to describe peoples appearance. It is very useful for students to use the topic to communicate with others in their daily life.二、Analysis of studentsOn the one hand ,the students of grade 7 have got certain ability to communicate in English .but some students still have difficulty in finishing tasks and they are afraid to make mistakes. On the other hand,the students are interested in English.so I will make some easy and interesting tasks to encourage them to speak in class. 三、Teaching aims:1.knowledge aims to learn the key words and target language, listen to and talk about what people look like.2.ability aims to train students oral skills and enable them to describe ones appearance. to train students listening skills and enable them to draw someones appearance according to the listening material. to train students skills of working in pairs.3.emotional aims:to make students know everyone is special and dont judge people by appearance.四、Teaching importantce & difficulties 1.to help students master the words and sentences about appearance.2. to enable students to master the differences between is and has when they are used to describe ones appearance.五、Teaching methods1.listening and speaking method2.task-based municative teaching method六、Teaching aidsMultimedia7、 Teaching proceduresStep1 Lead-inTalk about the title of this unit to lead in hair style, height, and build.Step2 Presentation1.Show some pictures to talk about hair style, then show some pictures of starts, ask students to describe their hair style, for example: what does she look like? She has long straight hair.2.Show some pictures to talk about height, then show some pictures of starts, ask students to describe their height, for example: what does she look like? She is of medium height.3.Show some pictures to talk about build, then show some pictures of starts, ask students to describe their build, for example: what does she look like? She is thin.4.Play a game of changing the outfit. Talk about Xiao Xins hair style, height and build.5.conclude how to describe peoples hair style( length + shape + color + hair) height and build.6.Show some pictures of starts, ask students to describe their hair style, height and build.7.Match the words with the pictures on their books.8.Do some listening practice to consolidate the target language.9.Talk about the sentence “Is he short or tall?”, then do some exercises.10.Invite some students to be our models, talk about their hair style, height and build.11.One student comes to the blackboard, describe one of the students and the others guess who is he or she.12.Do some exercises.Step3 Homework1你的朋友长什么样? 她又高又胖。2 我长得像我妈妈。3 Mike中等身材,戴着眼镜。4 这个女孩留着黑色的长发,她中等身高。5 你讲汉语还是英语?
