Unit 7 Its raining!一、The analysis of teaching materialThe main topic of this unit is about weather. And the grammar is Present Progressive Tense. Since students have learned Present Progressive Tense from unit 6, this unit, in order to make sure students master this knowledge and can use it in talking about the weather.二、Teaching aims1. Knowledge aim: 1) students should master these words, like sunny, cloudy, snowing, raining, windy, cold, hot, cool, warm, humid, terrible, rain, snow, weather, cook, study, bad, pretty, lying, beach, group, surprised, beat, relaxed, winter, scarf, everyone, man, like, Moscow, Boston, vacation, beach.2) students should master the sentences:-Hows the weather in Moscow? = Whats the weather like in Shanghai?-Its raining.2. Ability aims:1)can talk about weather in English by training their spoken English.2)can use Present Progressive Tense to talk what is happening.3. Emotional aims:Students can know a new way of greetings and understand that asking about the weather is quite a common greeting in western countries.3、 teaching key point and difficult point1. Key points: The description words about the weather.2. Difficult points: Hows the weather? Its raining/windy/cloudy/sunny/snowing/. Hows it going? Great! /Not bad! /Terrible! /Pretty good!4、 teaching procedureStep 1Lead-in1. Show students a video of weather forecast. And ask students what kind of TV show it is.2. Lead students to learn new words weather forecast. At the same time, it can arouse students interesting of this unit.Step 2 Presentation1. Show some pictures of weather, and guide students to read and understand every new words.2. Ask students, “if we want to ask others something about the weather, what should we say?”Thus can guide students to know we can use “How is the weather?”3. Set a situation for students and guide them to ask and answer the questions about the weather. For example, give them a picture of a little boy who is going to school, and the weather is windy. And then guide students to ask “How is the weather?” and then let them answer “It is windy.”4. Then lead them to look at the picture in 1a. Guide them to talk about the weather in 1a.5. After that, finish 1a. We will check the answer like this:-How is the weather in a? -It is raining/ rainy.In this way, students can master the words and sentences about weather.Step 3 Game 1. Divide whole class into 4 groups. Then we will play a guess game. Ill show some pictures about weather. If you know the answer, rise your hand. The fastest one, can answer the question. If it is right, the group can get one point. 2. Then we will see which group can get the most points. We will give the gifts.In this way, I can check whether students master the knowledge and it can train students team spirit.Step 4 Listen and role-play1. Show some pictures of the city in 1b. Guide students read and understand.2. Listen and finish 1b.3. Check the answer with whole class.4. Then guide them know How is the weather (in .)?= What is the weather like (in .)?5. Guide students to role-play according the picture in 1a. Ask some pairs show in the class and check their pronunciation and grammar. In this way, students can learn some listening skills.Step 5 Group Activity1. Show them a map of weather.2. Guide students discuss in group to describe the map.3. As if you are a reporter, give us a weather forecast.4. Then each group choice one person to show to us.5. Whole class will check which group is the best. And give them a present.In this way, students can master how to use the knowledge in their daily life.Step 6 SummaryAsk students to summarize what they have learned and then I will supplement some important knowledge.Ste
