Unit 9 What does he look like?康乐县鸣鹿初中 马福俊一、教学目标：知识目标：熟练掌握由What引导的用于询问他人外貌的特殊疑问句：What does he look like?描述人物外貌的形容词：tall, short, of medium height, heavy, thin, of medium biuld, long, short, straight, curly, handsome, beautiful 技能目标：学会从身高、身材、头发和其他特征四个方面描述一个人的外貌。情感态度：了解关注身边的人，能够描述他人的长相。学会尊重别人，不以貌取人。二、教学重点、难点：What引导的特殊疑问句。表示外貌特点的形容词。描述人物外貌时be动词和have的用法。三、教学方法及手段：任务型教学，小组活动，趣味活动等。四、课程安排：Step1: Lead in:运用学生的兴趣动画人物，进行导入：T: Today we will have a new unit, before the new unit, I have a question for you: “Do you like cartoons?” Ss: Yes.T: If you like cartoons, I think you may know them. Please look at these pictures. Who are they?Ss: 柯南，工藤新一。T: What are the differences between them? One is short, the other is tall. In this lesson, we will talk about how to describe a persons look.Step2: How to describe a person from “height”?以学生熟悉的人物图片为素材进行如何描述身高的教学：What does Yao Ming look like? He is tall.What does Jet Lee look like?He is short.If there is a man, he is not tall or short, how do we describe him?We can say he is of medium height.操练：带读，齐读，男生问女生答，互换角色，个别提问。Step3：How to describe a person from “build”?What does he look like?He is heavy.What does he look like?He is thin.What does he look like?He is of medium build.操练：带读，齐读，齐问齐答，A组问 B组答， 互换。Step4: Describe a person from “height” and “build”.从语法上讲，身高和身材都是用be动词表示的，刚刚学完的这两个方面放在一起进行练习，让学生从感知到熟练。T: So far, we have learned how to describe a person from two aspects: height and build, now I will give two minutes to practice the conversation with your partner, you can describe anyone you like, after two minutes, I will call some pairs to have a show.让学生进行小组练习，在练习的过程中，发现问题，解决问题。要求学生讨论任何一个自己想描述的人，对学过的知识进行简单的应用。Step5：How to describe a person from “hair”?采取picture talking的方式：What does she look like? She has long hair. She has short hair.What does she look like?She has straight hair. She has curly hair.What does she look like? She has long straight hair. She has short curly hair.Step6：Describe a person s hair.利用pairwork进行头发描述。注意与身高和身材进行区别：be和have的区别。T: Look at these pictures, you have 2 minutes to talk about their hair, then I will ask you to describe their hair pair by pair.Pairwork: A: What does he/she look like?B: He/she has hair.Step7：Describe a person from “height” “build” and “hair”.将已经学过的三个方面结合起来，从身高身材头发三个方面描述一个人：注意检查be和have的使用有无错误。教师准备名人图片，让学生进行外貌的描述，从身高，身材，头发三个方面入手。通过练习让学生对学过的知识达到更熟悉的程度。Step8: Listening practice: Listen and draw:将传统听音填表的听力训练进行改编：听对话描述，让学生抓住关键词，并用简笔画的方式将人物画出来，看谁画的漂亮，利用此活动，检验学生对前面所学知识的掌握情况，活跃课堂气氛。调动学生的积极性。T: I will give you three descriptions of three people, lets listen and catch the key words, then draw the three persons down on your task paper.Step9：除了身高，身材，头发以外的其他特征描述教学：T: Lets look at the picture, We can see Conan wears glasses, and he has big eyes and small nose and mouth, I think Conan is very handsome.其他特征的描述：wear glasses, big/small eyes, big/small nose, mouth, ears, handsome/beautifulStep10: Guessing Game: Who is he/she?教师针对班级的个别同学进行描述，其他同学猜，老师描述的是谁？通过此活动检验学生针对前面所学的知识的掌握情况，并活跃课堂气氛，调动学生的积极性，同时为后面的写作任务做好范例铺垫。T: He is one of my favorite students in our class, he is short and he is thin.
