The linguistic function is to ask for and give directions on the street. Key sentence structures of the first section are There be structure (assertive sentence both in positive and negative forms, investigative question, Yes-or-No question and the short answers), Where questions, and Preposition of place (near, on, next to, across from, in front of, behind, betweenand). Moreover, it reviews How questions and imperative sentences. At the same time, more vocabulary are presented (go along, go straight, turn left, turn right)The target languages are :Is there a restaurant near your house?Yes, there is. Its on Center Street.Where is the supermarket?Its next to the library.How can/do I get to there?Just go straight and turn left at the first crossing.学情分析Students have had history with there be structure, yet they have never learned it systematically. They might know its meaning, but they may have difficulties to use them correctly in various ways (negative assertive sentences, Yes-or-No questions and their short answers.) Besides, some of them might know some prepositions of place, but they still might not use them accurately. Concerning vocabulary, some of the students know many words of places, but some only few. So more efforts would be put on the language input and output of there be structures and preposition of place. 教学目标By the end of the lesson, student will be able to:l correctly pronounce the new words of places (police station, hotel, restaurant, bank, hospital, street, park);l use there be structure and prepositions of place (next to, near, between and ,across from) to talk about locations:Is there a near here?
