Unit5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came? Period1 Section A (1a-1c) 邹岗中学 肖武辉教材分析 本单元通过构建过去场景中正在发生的各种情况引导学生学习并使用过去进行时。Section A 1a-1c 呈现主题图a,b,c,d四个场景(分别是a:在家中做功课,b:在图书馆看书,c:在雨中等公交车,d:在风雨中行走)与左侧的小图形成呼应(电视里的主持人在问:What were people doing yesterday at the time of the rainstorm?),引出本单元的目标语言-过去进行时。活动1a-1c通过以听力为核心的任务链设计呈现目标语言What were you doing when the rainstorm came ? I was (doing.)。活动1a呈现了相关地点的表达,要求学生将这些地点与场景图配对。1b通过听力对话将本单元语法和句型在真实的情景对话中呈现出来,是对全新的语言的第一次完整的输入。1c要求运用本单元语法和相关句型控制性口头操练,完成最基本的语言输出。学情分析 本班教学42个学生,部分学生接受新知识的能力较强,口头表达能力还可以,少数学生胆子小,基础稍差点儿,基于这一实际情况,在教学过程中,我会面向全体学生,以旧知识带新知识,由浅入深。口语训练,强强示范,强弱搭配,活跃课堂气氛,相互配合,相互学习,共同进步。 Teaching Aims1. Knowledge Objects (1)Function: Talk about past events and tell a story. (2)Key Vocabulary:rainstorm, at the time of the rainstorm,when the rainstorm came. (3)Target Language:a.What were people doing yesterday at the time of the rainstorm? b.What were you doing when the rainstorm came? c.She/He was doing her homework/reading /waiting for the bus/walking home. (4)Structure: a.Questions and statements with the past progressive tense. b.Conjunction”when”.2. Ability Objects (1)Learn and master the past progressive tense. (2)Be able to talk about past events using the target language. (3)Learn and practice adverbial clause with “when”.3. Moral Objects a.Encourage students to observe the things around them carefully and find out the beauty of life. b.Develop the spirit of cooperation and the optimistic attitude.Teaching Key Points Learn and master the usage of the past progressive tense.Teaching Difficult Points Be able to talk about past events using the past progressive tense and adverbial clause with “when”.Teaching StepsStep1.Leading-in by showing some pictures. Talk about the the pictures with “where and what”. Ask and answer like this: T:Where is the girl ? S:She is in her house/ at home. T:What is she doing ? S:She is doing her homework. Explain : was/were + v-ingStep3. Finish 1a.T:Where were the people at the time of the rainstorm ?S:She/He was in/in/at/on. Then check the answer.Step4. Finish 1b. Listening practice. Go through the phrases in 1b and the question the TV reporter asked aloud. Pay attention to : was /were + v-ing Check the answer.Step5.Speaking practice. Using some pictures helps them answer the questions with “was/were + v-ingStep6.Finish1c.Pairwork.
