Emotion Objects: A new way of greetings and talking about the weather is quite a common greeting in western countries.II. Teaching Important and Difficult Points1. Important points: (1) Master the key words and sentences.(2) Learn sentence structures:Hows the weather? Its+adj.(3) Consolidate the present progressive tense to talk about what people are doing.(4) Be able to describe the weather.2. Difficult points: Improve the studentsability of communicating with each other about the weather. III. Teaching AidsA tape recorder, a computer, a blackboard IV. Teaching procedures Step1. Warm-upGreet the whole class. Show a picture(Its raining.),Say: Look at this picture,whats the girl doing?And hows the weather?(Point outside) .Yes. Its raining . Lets talk about the weather.-Unit 7. Its raining!Step2.ReviewT:From the title“ Its raining.”We can know it is the present progressive tense in Unit6. .Do you still remember it ?Lets review it first.Show some pictures ,then ask and answer like this :-Whats he doing?-He is playing basketball.-What are they doing?-They are watching TV.Step3.Presentation Show some weather signs. Then ask students “Do you know them? Please discuss and answer.”Show the weather words, and then teach them to read and spell these new words: rain, windy, cloudy, sunny, snow,weather.Ss sum up the rules:n(名词) +yadj(形容词)Then students read the words together .sunsunny windwindy .Step4. Practice and match.Focus on the picture in 1a. Point out the numbered list of description words. Say each one and ask Ss to repeat the words again. Then ask Ss to match each word with one of cities in the picture. Check the answers.Step 5. Weather report Then ask the students the question, “If we want to know about the weather, how do we ask?” to present the target languages “Hows the weather? ” Show a map of China. Guide Ss to talk about the weather in some cities in China.(Just try and be slow to do it,if Ss cant do this ,just make conversations.)Report: Good morning. Here is CCTV weather report. Itsin Beijing. Itsin Guangzhou. Itsin Shanghai. And itsin Shenyang. Thank you.Step6.Listening1. Show the city names in the box in 1b. Please read after me. Ss read the cities after the teacher. 2. Now, Well hear four conversations. Listen carefully, point out each city in the picture as it comes upon the tape. Play the recording a second time. Ask Ss to write the name of the city in the picture of its weather. 3. Check the answers. Step7. Pair workLead the students to read the example conversation in the box. Then put them into pairs to ask and answer like the example according to the pictures that the teacher shows. Step8. Consolidation一.Fill in the blanks with the correct form.1.
