Unit 5 Do you want to watch a game? 毕红梅 课时安排与说明:Period 1(Section A (1a-2d)一、教学设计1. (1)、语言知识目标:1) 能掌握以下单词:sitcom, news, soap, educational, plan, hope, find out, discussion, stand, happen, may, expect 能掌握以下句型: What do you want to watch? What do you think of talk shows? I cant stand them. I dont mind them. I like/love them. / I dont like them. 2) 能了解以下语法: 动词不定式结构做动词的宾语;后面接动词不定式做宾语的动词。3) 学会陈述自己的看法;学会谈论自己的喜好。(2). 情感态度价值观目标: 学会谈论流行文化,了解各类电视和电视节目的名称和自己的喜欢。 注意引导学生们形成正确的文化观念,大力培养学生们的跨文化意义,形成自己独立的个性。2、内容分析:这是第五单元第一课时的内容,核心语言项目是 “Talk about preferences ; Make plans”。 Unit 5 Section A重在培养学生口语交际能力,谈论对不同类型的电视节目以及其它事物的看法与偏好。让学生进行情景操练,使学生熟练掌握如何谈论自己及别人对事物的喜好。本节课的重难点是掌握动词不定式结构做动词的宾语;了解后面接动词不定式做宾语的动词,为学习section B打基础。 3、学情分析:八年级是学习英语的关键时期,这个阶段的学生活泼、好奇心和求知欲望强。本人所教班级学生为本校八年级普通班,通过一个月的接触我了解到他们的英语知识基础较为薄弱,听说读写能力相对不高,虽然部分学生学习英语积极性高,但学生存在不自信,羞于表现等思想顾虑,但又希望能得到他人的肯定。因此我在教学活动中尽量让他们参与到活动中来,有更多的机会来说英语,减少他们的恐惧感,但由于缺少丰富的语言基础,对某些任务的完成有一定的难度,通过学生间的合作学习,降低他们的学习难度,使他们体验到成功的喜悦。4、设计思路:根据上述核心话题和教学目标,本人认为采用听说法、交际法和合作法进行教学有利于学生学习掌握。二、教学过程(一)导入Revision 1.Review some sentences: Do you have a ball? Yes,I do./No,I dont. Do you like apples? Yes,I do./No,I dont. Do you like watching TV? Yes,I do./No,I dont. Do you want to watch a game show? Yes,I do./No,I dont.2.练习运用Do you want to watch?的句型。3.Learn and read the names of the TV shows. Game show游戏节目 sports show体育节目 talk show谈话节目 news in 30 Minutes新闻30分talent show才艺节目 soap opera肥皂剧 sitcom情景喜剧 soccer game足球比赛 Quiz Show 开心辞典Tell it like it is.实话实说 Home with Kids家有儿女 Law Today今日说法Chinese Cooking中国饮食 Around China中国各地 Lucky 52幸运52 Culture China中国文化 Man and Nature人与自然二、新授课(一)、 学生们根据图片提示练习运用What do you think of?的句型。 -What do you think of the talk show? -I love/like it. I dont mind it./ I dont like it./I cant stand it.(二). Learn 1a1.引导学生们看1a中的图片,根据提示依次说出每一部TV Show 的名称。2.让学生们看图片及1a中的词汇,将图片与正确的词汇相连。3.Check the answers with the students.(三)、 Listening1. T:Tell Ss to read the shows in the box. Make sure they know the meaning of the shows.2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the shows 1-4.3. Play the recording again. Check the answers with the students.(四)、Pair work1.Let Ss look at the pictures in the box. The explain the meaning of each expression to the Ss.2. Let Ss read the conversation after the teacher. Then let Ss make their own conversation using the shows and expressions in the box.3.Let some pairs ask and answer about the shows.(五)、 ListeningWork on 2a:1. Read the shows in the box of 2a. Tell Ss to remember the information.2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number the TV shows1-5.3. Play the recording again to check the answers.Work on 2b:1. Let Ss read the sentences below.Explain some main sentences for the Ss.Make sure they know what to do.2. Play the recording for the Ss to write the correct words in the blanks.3. Play the recording again to check the answers.(六)、Pair work1. Tell Ss ask and answer questions about the TV shows in 2a. They can use the Information that is true for them.2. Let Ss read conversation after the teacher.3. Explain some main points for the Ss.4. Ss act the conversation in pairs. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations.(七)、Role-play1. Read the conversations and match the name with the right shows.Grace a.game shows and sports shows Sarah b.soap operas Graces classmates c.news and talk shows2. Explain some new words and main points in the conversation.3. Read the conversation after the teacher.4. Practice the conversation with their partner. Then let some pairs to act out the conversation.(八)、Language points1. educational adj. 教育的;有教育意义的education (教育) + al educational; 多音节形容词,其比较级及最高级形式在其前加more,most构成。e.g. I think this movie is the most educational. 2. plan n. 打算; 计划e.g. Whats your trip plan? 你们的旅行计划是什么?plan v. 打算; 计划plan to do sth. 计划/打算做某事e.g. We plan to have a birthday party for Mary. 3. hope n. 希望e.g. Dont lose your hope! 不要灰心!hope v. 希望hope to do sth. 希望做某事 (能实现的理想)e.g. They hope to take the plane to Beijing next year. 4. find out 查明; 弄清 (指通过调查、研究等方式查明事情的真相)e.g. Did they find out where the old man lived? 他们查明那位老人住在哪里了吗?辨析: find 意为“找到;发现”,强调动作的结果。5. discussion n. 讨论; 商量动词 discuss (讨论) + ion discussione.g. Lets discuss who is the best performer. 让我们讨论一下谁是最好的表演者。6. stand v. 忍受; 站立e.g. Look! Who is standing under the tree? 看,谁在树下站着?stand “忍受”,后面可跟代词、名词(短语)或动词-ing形式,作此意讲时,常用于疑问句或否定句中。7. happen v. 发生; 出现 不及物动词,后面不能跟宾语,常用 “事情/事物 + happen +(状语)”句式。e.g. The story happened in 1997. 故事发生在1997年。8. may model v. 也许; 可以; 可能 “may + 动词原形”一起构成句子的谓语。e.g. You may go by bike or take the subway. 你们可以骑自行车去或乘地铁去。9. expect v. 预料; 期待 expect to do sth. 期盼做某事e.g. Jack expects to visit his grandparents this weekend. 杰克期望周末去看望他的祖父母。(三)课堂小结1、掌握本节课中出现接动词不定式的动词。(四)反馈(当堂巩固)用下列词组来造句: (1) plan to (2) hope to (五)作业布置与课外辅导:教辅41页第二题,用括号内所给词的适当形式填空的第1、2、5
