Teaching difficulties:use the target language to ask and answer the weather, and to talk about the activities that in progress.Teaching Aidsa tape recorder, a projector, blackboardTeaching ProceduresStep Warming up 1. enjoy two songs about the weather before class2. greet the class and ask students “What do you learn from the songs?” 3. show the weather signs and a map of six places on screen to consolidate how to talk about weatherStep Leading inYuan Yuan from CCTV is interviewing people in five places.Let Ss look at the pictures and ask them to fill in the chart:Whats the weather like?What are they doing?Step Listening1. Now lets look at the picture in 2a. Ask students to tell what each person is doing in each picture. 2. play the recording for the students to listen and number the pictures 1-4.3. play the tape for students again and answer: Hows the weather?4. listen to let students match the names with the activities in 2b. Play the recording for the students to check the answers.5. explain the listening material and then ask students to read it freely.Step Reading1. ask students to read the conversation and answer the questions:Hows the weather? Whats Steve doing? Whats Ricks brother doing?
