Hows it going?Not bad. Can I take a message for him? Yes. Could you just tell him to call me back? Sure, no problem.2. Ability objects:1) be able to talk about the weather by using the language.2) be able to describe the activities that in progress.3. Moral objects:Educate the students to observe the weather more and know the weather all over the world , to develop a worldview. And also learn to know that talking about weather is a habitual beginning of communication in the UK and USA.Teaching Points1. Teaching key points:1) The vocabulary and useful expressions.2) Hows the weather?Its raining/ windy.3) What are you doing?Im playing basketball.2. Teaching difficulties:use the target language to ask and answer the weather, and to talk about the activities that in progress.Teaching Aidsa tape recorder, a projector, blackboardTeaching ProceduresStep Warming up 1. enjoy two songs about the weather before class2. greet the class and ask students “What do you learn from the songs?” 3. show the weather signs and a map of six places on screen to consolidate how to talk about weatherStep Leading inYuan Yuan from CCTV is interviewing people in five places.Let Ss look at the pictures and ask them to fill in the chart:Whats the weather like?What are they doing?Step Listening1. Now lets look at the picture in 2a. Ask students to tell what each person is doing in each picture. 2. play the recording for the students to listen and number the pictures 1-4.3. play the tape for students again and answer: Hows the weather?4. listen to let students match the names with the activities in 2b. Play the recording for the students to check the answers.5. explain the listening material and then ask students to read it freely.Step Reading1. ask students to read the conversation and answer the questions:Hows the weather? Whats Steve doing? Whats Ricks brother doing? What does Steve want Ricks brother to do?Then check the answers.2. play the recording for students and ask them to underline the words or sentences that they cant understand.3. explain some language points.4. ask students to read the conversation loudly and then let them role-play the conversation in pairs.Step Opening your eyesshow three pictures of conversations talking about weather, then present the words of why the British or Americans like to talk about weather in daily communication.Step Summaryask students: What do you get from this class?
