Section A 3a-3c教学设计Part 1 Topic Facts about the world.Part 2 Teaching goals I. 语言知识目标:1.能根据读音规则和音标拼读单词(音-形),能根据构词法学习并运用词汇(形-性-义)。achieve, achievement, thick, include, condition, succeed, force, nature. 能正确使用下列表达:take in, in the face of, even though. 能认读下列词汇:southwestern, freezing, challenge, Tenzing Norgay, Edmund Hillary, Junko Tabei.2.能读懂有关地理与自然的文章,并能就话题进行简单交流,做到语音、语调基本正确、自然、流畅。3.能运用目标语言就相关话题与他人交换信息,参与讨论,并陈述自己的意见。II. 语言技能目标:1.听:能听懂学习活动中的相关指令和问题,并根据提示完成相关任务;能根据语调的变化,体会句子意义的变化。2.说:能就简单的话题提供信息,表达观点和意见,能运用相关提示(如图片,文字,思维导图等)进行描述,并能运用所学知识就相关话题展开讨论。3.读:能通过预测、速读、寻读等阅读策略理解文章大意,明晰文章谋篇布局,理解文章的逻辑关系,并能根据不同的阅读目的运用不同的阅读策略获取相关信息,能读懂相关水平的课内篇章及课外篇章。4.写:能根据学习活动要求记录相关信息;能根据所学内容使用简单的句子完成半控或开放性写作。III. 情感态度目标:1. 乐于参与英语活动,敢于用英语进行表达,积极与他人交流,体验英语学习的乐趣。2. 能在小组活动中积极与他人合作,互相帮助,共同完成学习任务。3. 通过本节课的学习能够了解珠穆朗玛峰的险峻和人类克服困难、挑战极限的勇气与实践精神。与此同时,通过学校八年级的励志远足活动激发学生坚持梦想,永不放弃,人定胜天的精神。IV. 学习策略目标:1. 能利用读音规则和音标拼读词汇,能借助图片、上下文逻辑关系等理解词义。2. 能通过预测、速读、寻读等阅读策略理解文章大意,理解文章的逻辑关系,并能根据不同的阅读目的运用不同的阅读策略获取相关信息,能利用思维导图明晰文章谋篇布局并进行复述。3. 能借助网络搜索励志故事,丰富英语学习资源。V. 文化意识目标:1. 通过阅读文章,了解珠穆朗玛峰及人类克服困难、挑战极限的精神。2. 培养学生坚持梦想,永不放弃的精神。Part 3 Teaching & learning methods1. Learning methods: Cooperative learning method & communicative learning methodPart4 Teaching ProcedureStep I Warming-upEnjoy a video about different kinds of sports. After watching the video, ask Ss two questions: 1. What sports can you see from the video?2. What kind of sports do you like? Why?Purpose: Ss are very interested in the video so that it can arouse students interest.Step II Lead-in Free talk. Say something about my favorite sport and tell them the reason. Show them three pictures about famous mountains: Qian Fo Mountain, Mount Tai, Qomolangma.Purpose: Let Ss talk about the mountains around us so that they can focus on the new text naturally.Step III ReadingBefore reading:Task 1: Check students knowledge-Choose the right answers:1. How high is Qomolangma?A. 8,844.43 meters highB. 8,448.43 meters high2. Where is Qomolangma?A. lies in Himalayas / hImleIz /B. lies in Alps / lps /.Purpose: Let Ss know the facts about Qomolangma and teach them how to read large numbers and how to answer the question, such as “How high”.Task 2: Listening: Let students listen to the conversation and find out the bad news.1. How many people died?2. Whats the reason?Purpose: Let students know the dangers of Qomolangma. Task 3 Fill in the blanks.Qomolangma is _ _ _ mountain in the world.Purpose: Lead out the title of the passage.While reading:Task 1: Ask Ss to read the passage quickly and match each paragraph with its main idea. Paragraph 1 Spirit of climbers /sprt/ 精神Paragraph 2 Success of climbersParagraph 3 Facts and dangers / fkt / 事实Reading strategy : Read the first sentence or the second sentence of each paragraph to get main ideas.Purpose: Let Ss practice the scanning skills and get the main idea of each paragraph.Task 2: Scan Para.1 for the important informationWhat are the difficulties for climbers? Step IV WritingTask 1 Show them some pictures about the longest river say out the names.Purpose: Let students know more about the geography and nature in China and in the world.Task 2 Work in groups to finish the writing about “Going Hiking Along Yellow River”.Ask them to write from these four aspects: facts, dangers, reasons and spirit.Purpose: Let students write a short passage using what we have learned today and tell them that no matter climbing the mountain or going hiking, we shouldnt give up trying to achieve our dreams.Step V SublimatingTask 1: Let Ss watch a micro video .Purpose: To tell students that everyone should have a dream and we shouldnt give up.Task 2: Finish the dream cards. Everyone should have a dream. Whats your dream? What should we do to achieve our dreams?Work in groups and discuss the two questions. Then write them on the dream cards.Purpose: To consolidate the target language by writing a love card. To let Ss study hard and never give up to reach the dream pyramid.Step VI Homework: You should: 1. Retell the passage to your partner. 2. Search encouraging st
