Ladies and gentlemen,Good morning. Nice to meet you here, I am Li Xiaodong from Jiaohe Middle School. at First, I want to thanks for No Five Middle School to give us this good chance to learn and exercise(built this exercise and learning for me). Im glade to stand here to share my teaching ideas with you. Today I am going to talk about Grade 8 book 1 Unit 3 Im more outgoing than my sister. Section A 2a-2d. I will divide my topic into six parts. They are Analysis of the Teaching Material, Analysis of the Students, Analysis of Teaching and Learning Methods, Teaching Procedure, Blackboard Design and Prediction.Ok, I will talk about them step by step.Part 1 Analysis of the Teaching Material1.Status and Function This is the second lesson of this unit. The main topic of this unit is to talk about personal traits and how to compare people Through comparison, it helps students to learn to use adjectives and adverbs in Comparative Degree structure to describe or tell differences of different people. This is an interesting topic and it is related to our daily life. So I think it will raise students learning interest. Its very important to learn this lesson well .As we all know the second period of each unit will not only learn and use the new words, phrases ,sentence, target language and other knowledge but also help for the coming lessons as well. It surely plays a very important and meaningful role both in teaching and studying. 2.Teaching aims 1. Knowledge Objects(Students use the comparative degrees of adjectives by listening and speaking.(1) Key Vocabulary: athletic, more athletic, serious, more serious.(2)Target Language: Tina works hard than Tara.Tara is more outgoing than Tina.)1)To learn the important words 、 phrases and sentences.2)To lean the target language and the comparative degrees of adjectives to describe personal traits and compare people2. Ability objects: 1)To train students listening, speaking and writing skills. 2).To train students communicative by using the target language. 3. Emotional objects: Lead the students to have the good personal traits3 Teaching key point: 1) To train the Ss ability of listening and speaking.2) To learn and use as as ,not as/soas and than. In order to make it。To use the following Teaching methods:1) Extensive listening method 2) Intensive listening method Teaching difficult point: To use the target language to describe and compare people. In order to make it,I will ask them to use the target language to make conversations。4 Teaching Aids :1) A tape recorder and multi-media 2)Students preview the text and review the rules of the comparative degrees of adjectivesPart 2 Analysis of the StudentsOn the one hand ,The students in Grade Eight have learnt English for a couple of years. They know a lot of English, but some of them dont learn it well. Especially listening and speaking. In this lesson, I will mainly train their abilities of listening and speaking. On the other hand .Students learned many adjectives to describe people in Grade 7. they are interested in talking about other people. And students have learned the comparative degrees of adjectives in the first period from 1a1c, and they will be interested in going on studying in this lesson. So it is not difficult for them to learn this lesson. Part 3 Analysis of Teaching and Learning Methods1、Teaching Methods(1)Student-centered teaching method.(2)Task-based teaching method.(3)Communicative teaching method.2、Learning Methods (1)let the students pass Preliminary studyLearn each otherEvaluation of learning to study language.(2)Learn the new language by listening, speaking, reading and writing .Next is the main partPart 4 Teaching ProcedureStep1 Preparation1. Pre-listeninglead in with an English song: (1)Let the Ss listen and sing an English song “the more we get together”.(2) And ask them to review the rules of the comparative degree of adjectives. Purpose of my designing Through the song and the revision, students will be interested in this lesson ,It will help new learning.(3) To use the target language to describe and compare people. (with some pictures.) Purpose of my designing Through this, it will be a good beginning of the new lesson. Step 2. Presentation In this part, I will improve studentslistening skills, so before listening ,ask the Ss to look at the chart and capture the relative information about the listening material. they may have a general idea about the listening material, which can help them to understand it and finish it well.1. Finish 2aExtensive listening: Play the recorder the first time and ask Ss to get the main information about what Tina and Tara like about and write it down in the chart.Intensive listening: Play the recorder again. The Ss are expected to get more information about Tina and Tara, so they can finish 2a part step by step and make it easily.Purpose: I divide listening process into two parts: extensive listening and intensive listening. In extensive listening part, students can grasp the main idea of listening material, while in intensive listening part, they can capture detail information. It is very important to develop those two abilities of students.2. Finish 2b Ask the Ss to listen to get the general information and finish the task as much as possible. We can do it as 2a.3. After-listening First, Explain asas /not as as ;than. Next ask the Ss to retell the information in the dialogue according to the answers in the chart. Thats a new way to learn new things. Step 3 Practice Ask student to complete 2c by using” asas, than” in pairs.In this, it will make students easily master the new knowledge, improve their abilities of listening and speaking, develop their communicative ability.Step4:ProductionTask on 2d:Listen and repeat.Read the conversation to get the detail information, and then ask some questions about this conversation, other students answer them. This can help Ss to make a conversation next.【Though this. It will help to develop the students ability of reading, thinking and communicative.】Step5:ProgressRole-play the conversation with your partner. Ask students to make conversations in groups ,and then shoe it in class.Through it. To check the knowledge that students have learned in this lesson. Cheer for the winners, encourage students to take an active part in the competition, reflect the team cooperation spirit.Exercises and homeworkAsk students to finish the Exercises。Through it . To check the knowledge that students have learned in ,and master the knowledge 。 HomeworkCompare you with your best friend, find out the differences between you two.
