Second language acquisition refers to the study and the gradual development ability in learning a target language apart from the native language. There is close connection between the interlanguage and the second language acquisition. Interlanguage has effects on the second language acquisition, both the positive one and the negative one. The positive effects of the interlanguage could promote the progress of the second language acquisition; on the contrary, the errors and the fossilization in the interlanguage could also prevent the success of the second language acquisition. The study of interlanguage will do some help in the study of second language acquisition. It will help to provide methods and inspirations on the second language acquisition.This paper aims to clarify the effects of the interlanguage on the second language acquisition in terms of the errors analysis and fossilization. According to the interlanguages effects on the second language acquisition, it also provides some effective methods in the progress of the second language acquisition.Key words: interlanguage; second language acquisition; positive effect; negative effect; errors analysis.摘要中介语是出现在二语习得过程中的介于母语和目的语之间的语言系统。二语习得指的是习得除母语之外的第二种语言.中介语和二语习得之间有着密不可分的关系。中介语会对二语习得产生积极和消极的影响,中介语既可以促进二语习得,中介语中的错误和僵化现象又会阻碍二语习得。研究中介语有助于发现二语习得的规律,为二语习得提供有效的学习方法。本文主要通过对中介语中的错误分析来阐述中介语在二语习得过程中产生的积极和消极影响,并提供一些对二语习得行之有效的方法。关键词:中介语;二语习得;积极影响;消极影响;错误分析。On the Impact of Interlanguage onand Second language Acquisition1. Introduction Interlanguage is a language system that is between the native language and the target language, during the process of second language acquisition. Second language acquisition refers to the study and the gradual development ability in learning a target language apart from the native language. There is close connection between the interlanguage and the second language acquisition. In this paper, I am going to clarify the concept of the interlanguage and the second language acquisition. I will pay more attention to analyze the close connection between the interlanguage and the second language acquisition. There are altogether four parts in the body of this paper. In the first part, I will start with the definition of the interlanguage and the second language acquisition. In the second part, I will analyze the positive effect of the interlanguage on the second language acquisition. In the third part, I will analyze the negative effect of the interlanguage on the second language acquisition, in this part, I will pay more attention to analyze the errors in the second language acquisition. In the last part, I will provide some effective methods and inspiration on the second language acquisition. Finally, there will be a conclusion of the paper. 2. Definition of Interlanguage and Second Language Acquisition2.1 Interlanguage Interlanguage is a language system that is between the native language and the target language, during the process of second language acquisition. Interlanguage is similar in some aspects of the native language, especially in the structure and the vocabulary of the sentence, however, it is not mere the translation from the native language. Interlanguage is not also seen as a mixture of the target language and the native language, we should keep in mind that interlanguage is a language system which has its own characteristics. In the progress of the second language acquisition, there are many examples of the interlanguage. Take one for example, the Spanish speaker who says in English he name is tom, which is a form is not used by the adult English speaker and will also not found in the first language acquisition in English child and also do not occur in Spanish. The above example shows that the interlanguage which occurs in the second language acquisition is a language system between the native language and the target language.2.2 Second Language Acquisition Second language acquisition refers to the study and the gradual development ability in learning a target language apart from the native language. In other words, second language acquisition is primarily the study of how to acquire or learn an addition language after the first language. The study of the second language acquisition pays more attention to the difficulties and causes in the progress in the acquisition and makes efforts to provide the effective methods for second language acquisition. 3. Interlanguages Effects on Second Language Acquisition3.1 Positive Effects on Second Language Acquisition Interlanguage could be regarded as a phenomenon of “language transfer” in the progress of the second language acquisition, is not all the negative effect. The language transfer could be divided into the positive transfer and the navigate transfer. Interlanguage is a language system between the native language and the target language; it also has the positive effect on the second language acquisition in the following aspects.3.1.1 Accelerate the Progress of SLA Interlanguage will accelerate the progress of the second language acquisition. The native language could help to understand the close relationship between the language and the concept; it could also help to organize the thoughts, preparing for the second language acquisition. If the native language and the target language have the similar feature, for example, making the plural on the end of nouns, then the learners will be benefit form the positive transfer. Interlanguage is a period in the progress of the second language acquisition, if there is a large of appropriate input, the learners will combine the new concept of the target language and the language knowledge of their own, and the interlanguage could accelerate the progress of the second language acquisition.3.1.2 Promote the Success of Communication. Interlanguage could promote the success of the communication. According to the second language acquisition theory, the progress of the second language acquisition is also a progress of active learning for learners. In the progress of the communication, because of the learners keep the limited knowledge of the target language, they may unwilling to communicate with others. At this time, if the learners could choose some interlanguage appropriately, they could promote a successful communication as well as interlanguage could inspire the learners enthusiasm on the second language acquisition. 3.2 Negative Effects on Second Language AcquisitionIn the interlanguage, there are two familiar phenomenons in during the second language acquisition. One is the error made in the interlanguage, the other is the fossilization in second language acquisition. In this part, I will pay more attention to the errors and the fossilizations negative effects on the second language acquisition.3.2.1 Errors Negative Effect on SLAAs we all know that errors could prevent the progress of acknowledging the second language well and frequently and we always do our best to eradiate the errors in the second language. It usually arises from the learners lack of knowledge. In other words, the learner does not know the right form in the second language acquisition. The errors also have bad effects on the second language acquisition. For example, Spanish speakers production of in the room there are there womens as a failure to learn correct English. During the second language acquisition, there are five types of errors. They are omission, addition, double making, misformation and disordering. Take the explanation of the omission for example, omission refers to the absence of an item that must appear in a well-formed utterance, for example, I wringting. Some errors may be due to the transfer of expression or structure from the native language. In the above part, I have referred to the positive transfer of language, of course there is the negative transfer of language, this kind of errors, which is different from the second language acquisition, such as the structure, of course, is not good for the second language acquisition.3.2.2 Fossilizations Effect on SLA During the second language acquisition, there is a familiar phenomenon is the foreign accent. One of the reasons of the foreign accent is the fossilization in the interlanguage. When it comes to the fossilization, it refers to some learners develop a fairly fixed second language form, containing many features which do not match the target language, and the point is that they do not process any further, their interlanguage is said to have fossilized.The fossilization also has bad effects on the second language acquisition. For example, to express the sentence it is against the law to park here into the sentence this place, can not park. We can find that the process of fossilization in second language pronunciation is one obvious cause of a foreign accent.4. Inspiration on Second Language Acquisition The interlanguage has more effects on the second language acquisition, no matter the positive one or the negative one. Form the close connection between the interlanguage and the second language acquisition; we can get some inspiration on the second language acquisition.4.1 Treat the Interlanguage in SLA in a right way We should treat the interlanguage in a right way. Take the errors in the interlanguage for example. We should regard the errors as a clue to the active learning progress in communicating with a new language. Instead of criticizing the errors, we should encourage and lead a right way to keep the errors away from being fossilized in second language acquisition.4.2 Take the Method of the Communicative Approaches From the interlanguages positive effects on the second language acquisition, we could get the inspiration on the second language acquisition. We should pay more attention to the communicative approaches regardless the errors and mistakes we may make in the communications. Sometimes if the learners could choose some interlanguage appropriately, they could promote a successful communication and at the same time the interlanguage could inspire the learners enthusiasm on the second language acquisition. According to many researchers, there are more recent views of the second language acquisition experience can best be described as communicative approaches, which all based on the functions of the language rather than the form of the language, such as the correct grammatical or phonological structure. At this time, we should keep in mind that the interlanguage could also promote the second language acquisition so that we pay more attention to the language used in the different social context rather than the form of the language.5. Conclusion This pepper focuses on the concept of the interlanguage and second language acquisition. It has paid more attention to the close connection between the interlanguage and the second language acquisition. It has analyzed the interlanguages effects on the second language acquisition, both the positive one and the negative one. The positive effects of the interlanguage could promote the progress of t
